Mike isn't in the Book of Life

Because Mike is from the Human Realm instead of the Raposa's, he has one special difference: he's not in the Book of Life. Almost everything else in the Raposa Realm is born of that book. The only other thing that shares Mike's position is the Creator.

This means that Mike is not bound by the same restrictions as the Raposa, but rather unknowingly has some of the same influence as the Creator. His subconscious begins to affect the Raposa Realm, leading to Mari and Jowee coming into existence based on his dolls, and Heather based on his sister.

However, Mike is still not as powerful as the Creator. As revealed in the final dialogue of TNC, the Creator exists in more than just the Raposa Realm. They are a multidimensional being that also created the Human Realm, and likely any other realms that exist. This is how dolls of the Raposa could even exist in the Human Realm to begin with. It also somewhat explains how Mike got to the Raposa Realm after being knocked out during the crash.

The Shadow is also born of the Book of Life, which means it can never be as powerful as the Creator or Mike. The Shadow is different in that it can self-replicate to spread further across the world, but its origins bind it to only being able to modify the world on a surface-level (meaning it can never alter the fabric of the world like the Creator or Mike can).
