The '''Four Guardians''' are a group created by [[User:GuyThatExists|GuyThatExists]] that appears in the [[:Category:Fanfiction|short stories]] ''[[Fanon:Blank Slates|Blank Slates]]'', ''[[Fanon:Blank Slates 2|Blank Slates 2]]'', and ''[[Fanon:Blank Slates 2|Blank Slates 2]]'' as a major faction, and in ''[[Fanon:Salem Rose Pt. 1|Salem Rose Pt. 1]]'' as a minor faction.

Originally one being, [[Fanon:Monk|Monk]], they were originally created by Monk splitting themself into four, [[Human|human]] bodies. As these humans, and as their later incarnations, acted as the decision makers in [[Fanon:The Void|The Void]], and worked against [[Fanon:Shadow Mari|Shadow Mari]] after her attack. They later turned against [[Fanon:Mayo|Mayo]] after realizing that she was the mastermind behind Shadow Mari, and they became peacekeepers in The Void. They were first killed by [[Fanon:Salem Rose|Salem Rose]] during his attack, and in their third set of bodies, fought against the [[Fanon:Tree King|Tree King]] and the [[Fanon:Jungle Creature|Jungle Creature]]. They also fought against [[Fanon:Tombstone|Tombstone]] during its attack, and were forced back into their original, human bodies to help fight it.

The Four Guardians were all originally [[Fanon:Monk|Monk]], a third screener with the ability to change things. After Monk split themself into four beings, creating [[Fanon:Warrior|Warrior]], [[Fanon:Ninja|Ninja]], [[Fanon:Skate|Skate]], and [[Fanon:Tank|Tank]], these four began working with the other screeners on ''[[Drawn to Life: The Next Chapter]]''. Just before [[Fanon:The Void|The Void]] was shut down, the humans transferred their smoke into less historically important bodies, creating [[Fanon:Flash|Flash]], [[Fanon:Paint|Paint]], [[Fanon:Hose|Hose]], and [[Fanon:Ore|Ore]]. When The Void was restarted for ''[[Drawn to Life: Two Realms]]'', the Guardians were tasked with lowering beings into The Void after they were cut or deemed unused.

During the development cycle for ''[[Drawn to Life: Two Realms]]'', [[Fanon:Joseph Tringali|Joseph Tringali]] called the Guardians to the [[Fanon:Discussion Grounds|Discussion Grounds]] to pick a character to revive for the upcoming game. When [[Fanon:Shadow Mari|Shadow Mari]] is passed over by the group, she attacks the Void, killing Willham and covering [[Fanon:Ore|Ore]] in [[Shadow]]. The rest of the Guardians revive him in [[Lavasteam]]'s color vat, and the make their way back to the discussion grounds. When they get there, they find [[Mildew]], Joe, and [[Fanon:David Franco|Franco]] laying on the ground dazed. They help them up and explain the situation before being ambushed by [[Fanon:Drakon|Drakon]] and [[Fanon:Dinofrog|Dinofrog]].

Dinofrog attacks the Guardians, destroying the discussion grounds during the battle, and the Guardians get help from [[Fanon:Alana/Stories|Alana]], Willham, and the [[Fanon:Droogle Killer|Droogle Killer]] during the fight. Weary of Mayo due to new information they got from the devs, the Guardians ride to the [[Fanon:Shadow Hole|Shadow Hole]] with the screeners. When they arrive at the hole, they fight off hordes of Shadow and [[Fanon:Ink|Ink]] monsters until Shadow Mari calls them off. When Mayo orders Shadow Mari to kill Willham, the Guardians are among the beings who begin to question her allegiance.

After Mayo's breakdown, [[Fanon:Paint|Paint]] and Ore protect her body while [[Fanon:Flash|Flash]] and [[Fanon:Hose|Hose]] ask Franco to leave the [[Fanon:Hose|Hose]] Void populated so that they wouldn't be bored or alone outside of development cycles. Franco ascends to the [[Developer's Grove]] as Flash and Hose join Paint and Ore. When Joe makes his decrees to leave the Void populated and to delete Mayo, the Guardians are some of the beings in the group that wishes [[Aly]] luck. When [[Fanon:Fiora|Fiora]] names [[Fanon:Sandal|Sandal]], Ore is the first in the group to laugh in agreement at the name.

During [[Fanon:Salem Rose|Salem Rose]]'s attack on the void, all four of the Guardians were killed by a wave of color he created. However, the spirits of the Guardians left their bodies and left to inhabit other bodies, with Flash becoming [[Fanon:Mill|Mill]], Paint becoming [[Fanon:Sparky|Sparky]], Hose becoming [[Fanon:Violet|Violet]], and Ore becoming [[Fanon:Hoopz|Hoopz]]. The Guardians, now separated from each other and curious to find out why the [[Fanon:Wii Village|Wii Village]] had been attack, each go on their own to stop the new forces attacking the void. After some time, they regroup at the [[Fanon:Color Vat|Color Vat]], where they face off against the [[Fanon:Tree King|Tree King]], [[Fanon:Squid|Squid]], and [[Fanon:Jungle Creature|Jungle Creature]]. During this battle, [[Fanon:Lambert|Lambert]] gains water-based abilities, and Violet makes him a Guardian.

After winning the battle, Mill is hesitant to say they won, as the Jungle Creature had split into four and began to escape. The Guardians follow one piece of the creature to the [[Fanon:Two Realms Plains|Two Realms Plains]], where they, along with the screeners and others who were there, fight the newly formed [[Fanon:Shadow Squid|Shadow Squid]]. After this fight, they go to the Wii Village, seeing a new Tree King attacking. They defeat the Tree King while Lambert splits off to defeat a corrupted Sandal, destroying three out of four pieces of the Jungle Creature.

A week later, the Guardians and screeners, sans Lambert, go to each of the villages to see how they are recovering from the Tree King's attacks. Mill checks up on [[Fanon:The Next Chapter Village|The Next Chapter Village]], learning about Rocko's identity crisis. He helps Rocko realize himself as [[Fanon:Repair Guy|Repair Guy]], and Mill returns to the [[Fanon:Guardians' HQ|Guardians' HQ]] to find the [[Fanon:Droogle Leader|Droogle Leader]] waiting inside.

Two years later, the Guardians are tasked with watching over the [[Fanon:Droogle Leader|Droogle Leader]] and having meetings discussion the whereabouts of [[Fanon:GenericChallenge/Stories|GenericChallenge]]. During one of these meetings, [[Fanon:Violet|Violet]] is left with the Leader and notices [[Fanon:Tombstone|Tombstone]] attacking the [[Fanon:Drawn to Life Village|Drawn to Life Village]]. A message is sent out to the other Guardians and screeners, which only [[Fanon:Lambert|Lambert]] gets, and they converge to fight the monster.

After Tombstone's defeat, the rest of the Guardians arrive with [[Fanon:Shadow Mari|Shadow Mari]] and watch as [[Fanon:Gingerfre (GuyThatExists)|Gingerfre]]'s [[Shadow]] army accidentally revitalizes Tombstone, allowing it to take over the Drawn to Life Village. The fighters then head for the [[Fanon:Two Realms Plains|Two Realms Plains]], where the Guardians and Shadow Mari urge the residents of [[Fanon:The Void|The Void]] to [[Fanon:Mantra|ascend]] into the [[Developer's Grove]] to be safe.

After this, the Guardians are next seen fighting Tombstone in the [[Fanon:Shadow Village|Shadow Village]]. After another successful fight, Tombstone is again revitalized by the [[Fanon:Five Aldarks|Five Aldarks]]. While cleaning up the effects of the fight, Violet and [[Fanon:Hoopz|Hoopz]] are captured by [[Fanon:Depression|Depression]], but manage to escape its grasp, releasing a shockwave on accident. This shockwave knocks the smoke out of [[Fanon:Mill|Mill]] and [[Fanon:Sparky|Sparky]], allowing Tombstone to absorb their thralls - [[Fanon:Doug|Doug]] and [[Fanon:Robot|Robot]]. Lambert and Mill's smoke are also absorbed at the end of this fight.

Sparky's smoke returns to its original body in the Drawn to Life Village, creating [[Fanon:Ninja|Ninja]] once more. The surviving Guardians meet at HQ and decide to explore the Shadow bubbles, as the villages were still in tact underneath them. Violet and Hoopz go to the Shadow Village, where they find Lambert's body. In the Drawn to Life Village, Ninja meets with [[Fanon:Jinxy|Jinxy]], [[Fanon:Heathers|Heathers]], and [[Fanon:Alme Palmette|Alme Palmette]] and summons the smoke from Violet and Hoopz creating [[Fanon:Skate|Skate]] and [[Fanon:Tank|Tank]] once more. However, since Warrior's smoke was still inside Tombstone, he could not be revived. The Guardians then fight an infected [[Fanon:Droogle|Droogle]] army, lead by [[Fanon:Goldie|Goldie]], one of Tombstone's thralls, and successfully defeat them. They then take Warrior's body to HQ.

Back at HQ, the Guardians reunite with Gingerfre, and they discuss their plans for Tombstone when they see the [[Fanon:Tree King|Tree King]] walking towards HQ. The Guardians mobilize to fight him and successfully defeat him, accidentally knocking down a wall of HQ in the process. When the rest of the scattered fighters reconverge at HQ, the Guardians are brought inside by [[Fanon:Willham|Willham]] and Shadow Mari and taught how to harness their abilities from Monk.

When Tombstone, [[Fanon:Red Dragon|Red Dragon]], and [[Fanon:Drakon|Drakon]] all emerge from Shadow bubbles in The Void, Ninja goes to fight Drakon, Skate goes to fight Red Dragon, and Tank stays to fight Tombstone. Once Red Dragon and Drakon are defeated, the Guardians get back together to fight Tombstone, turning a broken building into a [[:File:DTL1BetaBox2.png|knight]] to fight it. Near the end of the fight, the Guardians are forced back into HQ and want to recombine into Monk, but can't due to Tombstone still having Warrior's smoke, so they are ejected into canon by the [[Fanon:Master of the Abyss|Master of the Abyss]].
