Drawn to Life: The Next Chapter
+
Key is the chief engineer of Lavasteam and invents the Robosa to work side by side with the Raposa so they do not have to work as hard. After Miney proclaims himself king, he enslaves everyone, including the Robosa, to do his bidding for him and work even harder to mine banya crystals.
Key is the Chief Engineer of Lavasteam and created the Robosa to assist the miners in the village. However, when Miney took over as King and forced the Raposa villagers to mine Banya Crystals, he began overworking the Robosa, forcing them to mine Banya Crystals as well. Before the Color is drained from the village, Key enters the Magma Flow Factory to work on decommissioned Robosa. When the Color is drained, Key is trapped inside the Factory.

Eventually, Key is saved by the Hero, who is escorted out of the Factory by Key. Once outside, Key is met by Flint, who directs Key and the Hero to go meet Moe and Jowee on the other side of the village. Once everyone meets up, Key explains that the only way to shut down the Robosa would be to flip the Robosa Control Switch and use a key to access the switch, though Miney had the only key. Moe says that everything of Miney's was stored in Lavasteam's Village Hall - Clockwork Tower. However, before they can enter the Hall, Miney corners the four of them and throws them into the Tower's dungeon.

After escaping, Key watches as Miney loses the Robosa Control Key in the lava, and the Robosa begin revolting against the Raposa. The group runs back to the Magma Flow Factory and discusses how to create a second key. Key would get the materials needed to make the key while the Hero would get the key mold from the Robosa Foundry. Once the Hero gives Key the mold, he forges the new key and uses the Control Switch to shut them all down. Now that the Robosa were stopped, Salem secretly sneaks into the Volcanic Core and activates the Giant Robosa Prototype.

The Hero goes to defeat the Giant Robosa with Key's urging, and afterwards, Miney returns to the villagers and apologizes, renouncing himself as King. Key also apologizes for creating the Giant Robosa, and the villagers thank the Hero for their help. Later on, during Mari's prayer to the Creator, Key is seen gathered with other Lavasteam villagers outside the Core.
+
Key, along with some other mechanics, relocate to the Magma Flow Factory to look at a technical problem there. The Hero, Jowee, and Sock search Key out after being given a train pass to the next district by Moe. However, the color disappears while Key is in the factory. The Hero later finds Key examining some beat-up Robosa in the factory, commenting on how they were not able to withstand Miney’s torture.

Drawn to Life: Two Realms
+
After finding out Moe has made it safely out of the mines, Key goes to meet up with him to discuss how to “resolve this conundrum”. He explains to the Hero, Jowee, and Moe that he created the Robosa with a fail-safe, and that there is a switch near the Lava Flow Factory. However, it can only be accessed with a special key that Miney has hidden in the Clock Tower.
Between The Next Chapter and Two Realms, the Lavasteam District is established in Rapoville, and shortly before the game's events, Key decides to visit the District with Miney, Moe, and Crazy Diggs. He plays no major role in the story, only notably appearing in the credits, where he enters the mine in Rapoville with Moe, Crazy Diggs, and Jowee.

As they start to look for the key, Miney catches them and orders the Robosa to send them to the dungeon in the Clock Tower. Key warns Miney about the Robosa being not being able to withstand the overload of commands, but Miney does not trust him and sends them all into the Clock Tower, except for Jowee, who escapes to get help. Key is found fighting a Baki with his wrench, and is rescued by the Hero after they kill it. He later tells the Hero he could have taken it on himself.

A Better Design is an optional battle in Drawn to Life: Two Realms, has one segment, and takes place inside Key's mind.

Rewards
+
After exiting the Clock Tower, Miney tries to get the Robosa to stop the newly freed prisoners, but due to overloading the Robosa with commands, they malfunction. Key formulates a new plan: the Hero will get the mold for a new key in the “(very dangerous) Clockwork Assembly” while Key finds the other materials. After making the key, Key asks the Hero to pull the switch, which turns off every Robosa, except for the Giant Robosa, a new Robosa still in its prototype phase invented by Key, which is outside of the control of the switch. Salem manages to sneak into the volcanic core and activates the Giant Robosa manually. It then starts to tear the Core apart. Key warns the Hero about the Giant Robosa, and tells the Hero how to destroy it if the Hero talks to him before the fight.
