'''Wilfre''' is one of the main antagonists in the [[Drawn to Life Series]].

Wilfre is a cunning [[Raposa]] who is skilled with persuasion and manipulation. He was able to trick each leader of the different villages, and even persuaded [[Mari]] to steal the [[Book of Life]] for him in ''[[Drawn to Life: The Next Chapter]]''.

He does not see his actions as completely evil, because he says he is trying to save the Raposa world from destruction. He is very much aware that he hurts others and does things seen as evil in the process. He often speaks with a slight cockiness in his voice; at other times, he will take on a condescending tone, as if he feels that he is superior to the other Raposa, or even irate with them.

Wilfre is shown in the first game as a [[Shadow]] being who takes the form of a Raposa. A little further into the game, his backstory is revealed, where he looks like a normal Raposa, with light grey fur and mostly blue clothing.

Wilfre also takes on various new Raposa forms or disguises in addition to his old one throughout the story of [[Drawn to Life: The Next Chapter]]—these being [[Sock]] and [[Salem]]. He uses Sock to try to get close to the [[Raposa]], particularly [[Jowee]], and uses Salem in order to trick various village leaders.

In [[Drawn to Life: Two Realms]], Wilfre appears as a hooded Raposa, similar to [[Samuel]], although Wilfre's robe is grey and more hoodie-like than Samuel's.

Wilfre, being the main antagonist, is the one responsible for the [[darkness]] creeping into and covering [[Rapoville]]. He is also responsible for the kidnappings and captures of the villagers and their positions in being scattered, locked in Shadow Cages, throughout the levels in the game.

He appears for the first time when Mari, [[Jowee]], and [[Hero|The Hero]] approach the village entrance in order to search for the Mayor. He covers the bridge in darkness to prevent this, and so forces them to use the [[Snow Gate]] instead.

A little further in the game, the flashback scene is shown and some of Wilfre's backstory is revealed. He was a normal [[Raposa]]—in fact, he was the most popular and respected of all the villagers, always the center of attention. However, he questioned why the Raposa were not allowed to design their own creations in the [[Book of Life]], stating that "It could be done better". After being denied access to the Book of Life by the Mayor, he snuck into the [[Creation Hall]], stole the Book, and brought it to his house, where he tried to bring his own drawings to life. However, they came out evil, dark, and twisted. When the villagers found out,[[Mayor|The Mayor]], [[Cricket]], and Cricket's deputy ran him out of town. In a rage, on the bridge, Wilfre ripped the pages of the Book of Life into pieces and threw them into the wind, effectively scattering them throughout the world. Somewhere in the time between what was shown in this flashback and the events of the game, Wilfre became a Shadow being.

He is shown to have control over Shadow and the darkness, and is apparently the only one who can walk through it. He seems to prefer not to take direct action unless necessary, instead using the various bosses to try to get rid of The Hero first; although, he does steal the Book of Life and kill The Mayor himself.

At the end of the game, The Hero must journey into the [[Shadow Lair]] to recover the Book of Life from Wilfre and defeat him. Upon being defeated, Wilfre falls to the ground, seeming somewhat shocked and losing the Shadow covering him. He then dissolves.

===''Drawn to Life: The Next Chapter''===
Wilfre reappears in ''[[Drawn to Life: The Next Chapter]]'', again as the main antagonist. He first appears after kidnapping [[Heather]], when he drains [[Rapoville]] of its [[Color]] and kidnaps many of the villagers, forcing the remaining [[Raposa]] to flee to [[Turtle Rock]] and begin a voyage around the world.

The Raposa and [[Hero|The Hero]] meet him many times again along the way, but don't usually realise it because he is disguised as either [[Salem]] or [[Sock]].

In [[Watersong]], disguised as Salem, he had taken [[Rose|Mayor Rose's]] voice, which greatly endangered the village. In [[Lavasteam]], again as Salem, he turns [[Miney]] paranoid and insane, convincing him to forcefully become king of the village, and feeding the paranoia by telling him that his brother, Moe, would eventually betray him. Finally, in the [[Galactic Jungle]], Wilfre himself suggested to [[Click]] to start the D.O.T.R.O.T.P.O.T.U.S.F. As Sock, he travelled with The Hero and Raposa during most of their journey, unbeknownst to them until late in the game.

At some point, Wilfre also persuades [[Mari]] to help him get the Book of Life and help him in his quest to defeat The Hero and defy [[Creator|The Creator]], but later she returns to her original stand with them and the other villagers.

The last village, [[Wilfre's Wasteland]], is named so because it is Wilfre's own village. It is a melange of the first three villages (Watersong, Lavasteam, and Galactic Jungle), plus something twisted and dark. He seems to have created this place himself, using pages torn from the Book of Life. This is the location of the [[Hall of Darkness]], where he must be defeated at the end of the game.

Wilfre, granted life once more, only appears three times in ''[[Drawn to Life: Two Realms]]'', although not as an antagonist. He is first seen in the opening sequence, where he gives the [[Book of Imagination]] to [[Mari]]. He appears later, watching Mike and the Hero travel between realms using the Book, stating that the Raposa "have a chance." He is lastly seen at the end of the game, after [[Aldark]]'s defeat. He talks to Mari and Jowee, stating that this isn't the end, and that they might have to use the Hero to save more lives than just Mike's. He then leaves the Village to go explore other areas.

During the game, Mari tells the Hero that when Wilfre was defeated in the Hall of Darkness, his Shadow was expelled from his body and sent to the [[Human]] realm in the form of Aldark.

=== First Battle===

The first part of this boss fight (excluding the level-like part beforehand) is not actually fighting Wilfre himself, but his "little friend" - a [[Wilfre's Scorpion|giant scorpion-like creature]] which spews out darkness and has a [[trident]] for a tail.

After the scorpion is defeated, Wilfre will get annoyed and decide to finish off The Hero himself. Wilfre will attack two ways: dropping [[Star|stars]] at The Hero, or firing tridents at them. The player can hit Wilfre when he moves.

At half life, Wilfre gets frustrated, exclaiming, "Ooooh! Now prepare to die!". Past that point, he will become quite a bit faster, and more unpredictable in his attacking pattern. Once defeated, he falls to the ground, loses his shadow, and looking shocked, disintegrates.

=== Second Battle===

During the first part of the fight, Wilfre is completely unbeatable. He moves very quickly, always dodging attacks, and can summon other enemies from the game (particularly Ghosts) to attack the Hero. He also employs his sceptre to his great advantage, shooting fast, long-ranged beam-like attacks that are almost impossible to avoid. Defeat in this part of the fight is inevitable, and when this occurs, Wilfre begins a tirade and gloats over the victory, sucking the color from the already-defeated Hero.

However, the few remaining village Raposa and Mike are still outside, and they begin to pray to the Creator. Their prayer is answered when The Creator restores The Hero and destroys Wilfre's scepter.

Wilfre isn't left completely defenseless, however - he pulls out the Book of Life and tears a page from it, summoning his Ultimate Creation, his new weapon. Thus begins the second part of the battle.

This creation shoots lightning bolts that speed across the ground until they hit the end walls. It also turns into a tornado that sucks in The Hero. The most basic of its attacks is that it will swoop down. Even in the air, Wilfre sits within jumping range, making it possible for The Hero to attack while he is hovering. When Wilfre is finally defeated he flickers between forms flashing from his shadow form to [[Sock]], [[Salem]], and then to his Raposa form; after going through all this, Heather is finally released from his hold, and the fight is finished as she and the Hero emerge from the Hall of Darkness, victorious at last.

* According to Joseph Tringali, Wilfre's name is pronounced "Will-free".
* In another [[5th Cell]] game, ''Lock's Quest, '' a grave for Wilfre can be found in the forest camp. His grave is implied to be haunted by many characters. Oddly enough, after the camp a new type of enemy called the phantom clockwork appears. This bears more of a resemblance to [[Shadow Walker]]s than to normal robotic enemy, being made of a shadowy substance as opposed to the usual metal.
* Along with other religious referencing in the game, Wilfre has been compared to the Biblical account of the angel [[:wikipedia:Lucifer|Lucifer]]. Lucifer was once the most beautiful angel, but then he wanted to become as great or greater than God, and so was cast down into the darkness and shadows of hell. He was followed by many other rebellious angels.
** This was later confirmed by Jeremiah Slaczka as Wilfre is meant to represent Satan.
* Wilfre is not in ''[[Drawn to Life: The Next Chapter (Wii)]]''. This is due to the fact that he is deceased during the course of the game, a fact that drives the plot of the game behind the scenes, as [[Circi]] wishes to bring Wilfre back from the dead by gathering the [[Artifacts of Power]].
** According to a Game Design Document shared by [[Drawn to Life: The Next Chapter (Wii) Credits|Ken Capelli]], Wilfre would have made an appearance after defeating the [[Giant Scribble Monster]], possessing the [[Dark Mannequin]] before it is disassembled and promising to return.
* Wilfre's relationship with Circi has not been confirmed, but it is strongly suggested in Drawn to Life: The Next Chapter's Wii version that they may have been lovers at some point.
** It is also possible that Circi could have simply been a fan of Wilfre, but neither of these possibilities have been explicitly confirmed.
* Wilfre holds his scepter in his left hand, which may suggest that he is left-handed.
* Artwork depicts [[Shadow]] Wilfre as purplish-blue with yellow eyes. His in-game sprite, however, is black with white eyes. In the opening of the DS version of [[Drawn to Life: The Next Chapter]], he is depicted as dark purple with white eyes.
* In [[Drawn to Life]], after his first encounter with the [[Hero]], Wilfre will usually appear just before a boss battle.

Her most notable feature is that the left half of her face is covered in [[Shadow]]. While at the carnival, the kids had won two plush animals resembling [[Mari]] and [[Jowee]]. On their way home, a heavy storm began, and that, along with an unpaved road and some reckless driving, caused a major car accident between the family and [[Deputy Snyder]], killing Heather's parents, putting Mike in a coma, and severely injuring Heather.

In ''[[Drawn to Life]]'', Heather is first seen while the [[Hero]] is fighting [[Frostwind]], as she had been captured some time before. She will occasionally drop [[Heart]]s and [[Snowshooter|Snowballs]] for the Hero to use, and after Frostwind is defeated, she comes to [[Rapoville]] with the Hero. Back in the village, Heather does not speak, and [[Jowee]] is scared of her due to the [[Shadow]] on her face. Throughout the game, Heather is seen with Jowee, although he tries to leave her on multiple occasions, such as when he runs into the [[Forest Gate]] and when he has a moment with [[Mari]] on the [[Secret Beach]]. ''[[Drawn to Life: The Next Chapter]]'' begins with Heather having a nightmare about [[Wilfre]] returning and draining the color from a picnic she had with [[Mari]] and [[Jowee]]. When she wakes up, she decides to go on a walk through [[Rapoville]] to the [[Secret Beach]], where she finds a treasure chest with a [[Wilfre's Scepter|strange scepter]] inside. This causes [[Wilfre]] to possess her body, kickstarting his plans.

The next morning, Jowee and Mari ask the villagers if they had seen Heather than day, when the [[Color]] suddenly starts to drain from the village. Wilfre appears, kidnapping some of the villagers, but as he escapes in a portal, Heather briefly pulls away from him, leaving Jowee with a cryptic message - "Kemi-Kewa!" As Wilfre pulls her away, she leaves [[Heather's Pendant|her pendant]] with Jowee, and he takes it with the remaining villagers to [[Turtle Rock]].

Throughout the story, Heather's Pendant guides Jowee and the remaining villagers to [[Watersong]], [[Lavasteam]], and [[Galactic Jungle]], but Wilfre, disguised as [[Sock]], eventually throws it off the vessel, seemingly leaving the group stranded. When the group arrives at [[Wilfre's Wasteland]] and the [[Hero]] defeats Wilfre once and for all, Heather is left behind, now shadowless, and she returns to Jowee. When the group returns to a restored Rapoville, Heather is present as the [[Creator]] ignites the [[Eternal Flame]], waking [[Mike]] up.

Meanwhile, while the events of this game had been happening, Heather's human form had been resting with [[Mike]] in the hospital with bandages covering the left side of her face. She had been desperately praying to [[Creator|God]] to bring Mike back. Before Mike wakes up, a police officer comes into their room to ask Heather some questions about the crash and asking her to draw what she remembered from that day. As she draws her picture for the officer, Mike wakes up from his coma. She rushes over to his side and hugs him as the officer alerts a nurse that Mike had woken up.

===In between The Next Chapter and Two Realms===
[[Mike]] is discharged from the hospital by the time Heather's bandages are removed, and the two of them go to live with their [[Uncle Owen]] in [[Belleview]]. At the memorial service for Heather's parents, a fight erupts after the villagers blame each other for the accident, proving to Heather that the villagers didn't care about her or her brother, only their own guilt. Heather also notices [[Aly]] beginning to spend more and more time with Mike.

Four years later and shortly before the events of ''[[Drawn to Life: Two Realms]]'', Heather is influenced by [[Aldark]]'s [[Shadow]], bringing out the negative emotions within her. When she is first seen in the game, [[Mike]] meets her outside [[Mr. Esow]]'s shop with the [[Hero]]. She complains about how Mike is always late and unreliable, but the Hero uses the [[Book of Imagination]] to clear the shadow from her mind, calming her down.

Some time later, Heather is worried about Mike, who was sleeping all morning after visiting [[Rapoville]]. She wakes him up with the Hero, and she tells him that [[Aly]] called. After Mike runs out to meet Aly, Heather talks with the Hero, believing them to be a new resident of [[Belleview]]. She explains that the villagers had been acting weird since the accident, asking the Hero to not judge them too much.

After Mike and Aly are both influenced by Aldark's shadow, she asks the Hero to go find Mike and bring him home. After Mike comes home, Heather asks him what happened, and he gets angry, brushing her off and leaving her alone with the Hero. Upset, she explains how the carnival impacted her family and the town. She asks the Hero to go talk to Aly in hopes that they could resolve whatever had happened.

Later on, Heather, Aly, and [[Tony]] discuss how Mike had seemingly disappeared through a portal, although Heather and Aly don't believe him. After the Hero finds Mike in Rapoville and they both return to Belleview, Heather watches on as Mike finally confronts [[Deputy Snyder]] about the accident, blaming the officer for his parent's deaths. The Hero clears the Shadow from both of their minds, and Heather takes Mike home.

In later editions of the DS sequel, the credit scenes depict vastly different events leading to Mike's presence in the Raposa's world. The replacement storyline is significantly less dramatic, depicts very little injury, and does not result in the death of Heather and Mike's parents.

As the credit scene depicts, Heather, her parents, and her brother [[Mike]] go camping together one night. During the trip, Heather and Mike are trying to catch fireflies. When Mike climbs up a tree to reach a firefly, he steps on a weak branch and falls to the ground. The impact knocks him unconscious.

As their parents run over to check on [[Mike]], Heather begins to pray to the [[Creator|God]], asking for Mike to wake up. He does so almost immediately, and the siblings embrace.

Throughout the game, she stands with Barks by the windmill until he goes missing. [[Circi]] and [[Jowee]] tell her to stay with Mari while Jowee and the Hero explore [[Shadow City (Level)|Shadow City]] to find him. When the two are reunited, Heather explains that Crazy Barks found a path to the [[Shadow Labyrinth]].

On their way home, a heavy storm began, and that, along with an unpaved road and some reckless driving, caused a major car accident between the family and [[Deputy Snyder]], killing Heather's parents, putting Mike in a coma, and severely injuring Heather.

In ''[[Drawn to Life]]'', Heather is first seen while the [[Hero]] is fighting [[Frostwind]], as she had been captured some time before. She will occasionally drop [[Heart]]s and [[Snowshooter|Snowballs]] for the Hero to use, and after Frostwind is defeated, she comes to [[Rapoville]] with the Hero. Back in the village, Heather does not speak, and [[Jowee]] is scared of her due to the [[Shadow]] on her face. Throughout the game, Heather is seen with Jowee, although he tries to leave her on multiple occasions, such as when he runs into the [[Forest Gate]] and when he has a moment with [[Mari]] on the [[Secret Beach]]. ''[[Drawn to Life: The Next Chapter]]'' begins with Heather having a nightmare about [[Wilfre]] returning and draining the color from a picnic she had with [[Mari]] and [[Jowee]]. When she wakes up, she decides to go on a walk through [[Rapoville]] to the [[Secret Beach]], where she finds a treasure chest with a [[Wilfre's Scepter|strange scepter]] inside. This causes [[Wilfre]] to possess her body, kickstarting his plans.

The next morning, Jowee and Mari ask the villagers if they had seen Heather than day, when the [[Color]] suddenly starts to drain from the village. Wilfre appears, kidnapping some of the villagers, but as he escapes in a portal, Heather briefly pulls away from him, leaving Jowee with a cryptic message - "Kemi-Kewa!" As Wilfre pulls her away, she leaves [[Heather's Pendant|her pendant]] with Jowee, and he takes it with the remaining villagers to [[Turtle Rock]].

Throughout the story, Heather's Pendant guides Jowee and the remaining villagers to [[Watersong]], [[Lavasteam]], and [[Galactic Jungle]], but Wilfre, disguised as [[Sock]], eventually throws it off the vessel, seemingly leaving the group stranded. When the group arrives at [[Wilfre's Wasteland]] and the [[Hero]] defeats Wilfre once and for all, Heather is left behind, now shadowless, and she returns to Jowee. When the group returns to a restored Rapoville, Heather is present as the [[Creator]] ignites the [[Eternal Flame]], waking [[Mike]] up.

Meanwhile, while the events of this game had been happening, Heather's human form had been resting with [[Mike]] in the hospital with bandages covering the left side of her face. She had been desperately praying to [[Creator|God]] to bring Mike back. Before Mike wakes up, a police officer comes into their room to ask Heather some questions about the crash and asking her to draw what she remembered from that day. As she draws her picture for the officer, Mike wakes up from his coma. She rushes over to his side and hugs him as the officer alerts a nurse that Mike had woken up.

[[Mike]] is discharged from the hospital by the time Heather's bandages are removed, and the two of them go to live with their [[Uncle Owen]] in [[Belleview]]. At the memorial service for Heather's parents, a fight erupts after the villagers blame each other for the accident, proving to Heather that the villagers didn't care about her or her brother, only their own guilt. Heather also notices [[Aly]] beginning to spend more and more time with Mike.

Four years later and shortly before the events of ''[[Drawn to Life: Two Realms]]'', Heather is influenced by [[Aldark]]'s [[Shadow]], bringing out the negative emotions within her. When she is first seen in the game, [[Mike]] meets her outside [[Mr. Esow]]'s shop with the [[Hero]]. She complains about how Mike is always late and unreliable, but the Hero uses the [[Book of Imagination]] to clear the shadow from her mind, calming her down.

Some time later, Heather is worried about Mike, who was sleeping all morning after visiting [[Rapoville]]. She wakes him up with the Hero, and she tells him that [[Aly]] called. After Mike runs out to meet Aly, Heather talks with the Hero, believing them to be a new resident of [[Belleview]]. She explains that the villagers had been acting weird since the accident, asking the Hero to not judge them too much.

After Mike and Aly are both influenced by Aldark's shadow, she asks the Hero to go find Mike and bring him home. After Mike comes home, Heather asks him what happened, and he gets angry, brushing her off and leaving her alone with the Hero. Upset, she explains how the carnival impacted her family and the town. She asks the Hero to go talk to Aly in hopes that they could resolve whatever had happened.

Later on, Heather, Aly, and [[Tony]] discuss how Mike had seemingly disappeared through a portal, although Heather and Aly don't believe him. After the Hero finds Mike in Rapoville and they both return to Belleview, Heather watches on as Mike finally confronts [[Deputy Snyder]] about the accident, blaming the officer for his parent's deaths. The Hero clears the Shadow from both of their minds, and Heather takes Mike home.

In later editions of the DS sequel, the credit scenes depict vastly different events leading to Mike's presence in the Raposa's world. The replacement storyline is significantly less dramatic, depicts very little injury, and does not result in the death of Heather and Mike's parents.

As the credit scene depicts, Heather, her parents, and her brother [[Mike]] go camping together one night. During the trip, Heather and Mike are trying to catch fireflies.
