Mike is a human that got trapped in the Raposa world.

Mike's personality isn't deeply looked into in the first two games. It is explained that he is nice, according to what the Raposa have said. He is shown to have a lot of faith in people, seeing as he is the only character on Turtle Rock who didn't go straight to giving up when Wilfre threw Heather's Pendant away into the ocean. He is shown to be caring and capable of understanding different perspectives, as he did consider Wilfre's intentions in Drawn to Life: The Next Chapter to be decent.

In Drawn to Life: Two Realms, Mike is shown to be compassionate to those in his community, specifically Aly. He is the main interest of Aldark and due to the crash, he shows resentment towards Deputy Snyder, the driver of the other vehicle. Throughout the game, he is the only character besides the Hero known to be able to travel between realms.

Tower Appearance
Mike is a young human boy with spiky blonde hair. He wears a grey jacket, a white t-shirt, blue pants and sneakers. He has blue eyes.

Book Story
Drawn to Life
Mike gets trapped in Rapo City with two Raposa children. They are soon saved by The Hero who takes him to the village. The Mayor allows him to stay, and he stays with Dr. Cure for the rest of the game.

Raposa often ask him what happened to his ears due to the fact that they are unaware that he is a human. Mike often replies back in a confused and indignant manner.

Drawn to Life: The Next Chapter (Wii)
In the Drawn to Life: The Next Chapter (Wii), Mike becomes the technician of the village and is in charge of maintaining the Lighthouse.

During the first half of the game, Mike is away on unknown business. When the Hero and Jowee are exploring The Baldy Slopes, however, Mike returns to Rapoville. Mari explains the things that have happened thus far, and tells him that Jowee and the Hero are searching for the Eternal Furnace. After this, Mike runs off into the Icy Wastes, and the Hero must rescue him.

When Jowee and the Hero find him using the Frozenini, he seems to be unaffected by the cold. He tells the two that he had a dream that he would find the Furnace if he sought it out. The three return to the village and Mike marks the location of the Furnace on their map.

After this, Mike will stand outside the lighthouse on the far left side of the village. He does not offer any sort of challenges for the player. He can be talked to and will typically make programming jokes or tell the Hero about how welcoming the Raposa were to him. He typically ends his talks with "You have no idea what I'm talking about, do you?"

Drawn to Life: The Next Chapter
At the end of the game, it is revealed that Mike was originally a normal boy living in Real Life with his sister Heather and his mother and father. One day they headed to the carnival and won dolls of Jowee and Mari. On their way home they crashed into a truck resulting in the debatable death of Mike's parents and Mike falling into a coma.

Heather prays to God to save Mike from his coma. He dreamed of The Raposa World which came into existence while he slept.

In the Drawn to Life: Collection and in later versions of Drawn to Life: The Next Chapter, the ending is modified due to a ratings complaint. Instead of getting in a car accident, Mike is hunting for fireflies with Heather during a camping trip. He climbs a tree in pursuit of one of the fireflies, and falls out of the tree, resulting in unconsciousness, after the branch he is standing on breaks.
Question Trivia
* According to Joseph Tringali, Mike's full name is Michael Robert Row.
* When Mike is first rescued the message that pops up says: "Congrats! You found Mike?" this is the first time the game highlights that he is different. However, a similar message pops up when you rescue Unagi.
** The question mark on Unagi's message may or may not be intentional.
* There are several unused sprites found in Drawn to Life: The Next Chapter where different characters are seen wearing Mike's clothes.
** One of these sprites can be seen in normal gameplay.
** These sprites tend to be related to Lavasteam.
** This may mean that Mike's fear sprite was used as a template by the developers.
*** Key's unused fear sprite helps to support this.
* He also appears in Lock's Quest as a Raposa who complains that there is no wifi. The fact that he is the only Raposa in the game may be a nudge as to how Mike is the only human in Drawn to Life.
* In promotional artwork, Mike's jacket is green instead of grey.
* In the original ending of Drawn to Life: The Next Chapter, Mike is not wearing the same clothes as he is in his sprites.
** This is corrected in the modified ending, where his character is re-drawn to match the style of the in-game sprites.
* At one point Drawn to Life: The Next Chapter (Wii), Jowee refers to Mike as a "gear head".
** Also in Drawn to Life: The Next Chapter (Wii), Mike apparently builds robots, at least according to Heather.
* In Drawn to Life: Two Realms, Mike has an entire set of unused sprites that are done in a different style than any other sprites in the game.
Drawn to Life is an action-adventure/platform game for the Nintendo DS developed by 5th Cell and published by THQ in America, Europe, and Australia. It was published in Japan with the name Drawn to Life: God's Marionette (ドローントゥライフ: 神様のマリオネット <span style="font-weight: normal">Dorōn to Raifu: Kami-sama no Marionetto</span>) by Agatsuma Entertainment, and in Korea as Geuryeora, Touch! Naega Mandeuneun Sesang.<br />The game is known for letting players create their own playable characters, level objects, and accessories by drawing them using the DS's stylus and touch screen.

Overview
Drawn to Life requires the player to create a Hero in order to free a cursed village from an encroaching darkness. It features numerous platforming levels, a top down central village and other elements (such as vehicles, weapons, platforms, etc.) which are drawn and colored by the player using the stylus.

Button Gameplay
Drawn to Life is a 2D game with the unique hook of drawing your own playable character, weapons and accessories, platforms, and objects. This game is targeted towards children, young adults and non-gamers due to its lack of complexity and ease of play. The game is separated into three different play modes.

Village Mode
A top-down, central "hub" where the player progresses the story and interacts with the Raposa, purchases items from the item shop using Rapo-Coins collected from Adventure Mode and also accesses levels. Players draw different items at the Raposa's request to enrich their village. Over the course of the game in village mode, the player will play mini-games, participate in a town festival, hunt for a thief and help the Raposa thrive. Here players are given their objective for the next Adventure Mode level. There are two main buildings in this mode&mdash;Creation Hall, where players can edit their previous creations, and the Item Shop, where players can purchase songs, patterns, stamps and even new abilities for their hero.

Adventure Mode
A side-scrolling platformer, laid out into sixteen unique levels. Adventure Mode is where the "meat" of gameplay is done. Here the player battles enemies, rescues Raposa, and collects items. Players draw unique platforms that allow the player the progress through the level and reach the Exit Gate. Bosses are also battled through this mode. There are four different worlds: Snow, Forest, Beach and City, each with their own boss.

Players are tasked with rescuing three Raposa (usually one is named and two are random), and four pieces of a page from the Book of Life which will be used to create a new village object. Players can also collect "secret" orbs (three per level) that will then unlock and be purchasable in the item shop. In each section of the levels players tap on an easel icon to enable Draw Mode, which tells the player to draw some new type of platform or object. Once drawn, the player goes back to Adventure Mode and can then use or interact with the newly drawn object.
Drawn to Life/List of Levels

Draw Mode
The tool, similar to a robust version Microsoft Paint, through which players use to create new objects, weapons and even their hero. This is done through the stylus and touch screen input. Once drawn, objects and the hero itself will animate through the game's own design. The player can design up to three different humanoid heroes using a variety of colors, patterns and stamps. Character creation also features fifteen or so pre-made character templates which can be traced, or have their body parts swapped in and used for those people who are less artistic.

An interesting side feature to Draw Mode is that the game's title screen can be drawn and saved, so players can make their own unique title screen.

Players can also trade their drawn heroes and other objects via local wireless.

The main "race" of creatures inhabiting the universe of Drawn to Life are anthropomorphic fox-like beings known as the Raposa. They were drawn by The Creator, who also drew their world and everything in it.

The story begins with a Raposa named Mari crying out to The Creator to help save the Village she lives in. Her father doubts that The Creator will come back to help them, though Mari doesn't want to give up. Along the way, the player is introduced to her best friend, Jowee, and her father, who is The Mayor. These characters are the last remaining villagers. The player designs a hero for them, and they soon run into Wilfre, a corrupted Raposa that dabbled in creation, and spawned a legion of evil Shadow Creatures. The actual gameplay starts by rescuing The Mayor, who sets off to bring back the Raposa to the Village. As the player progresses, they learn that Wilfre was once a prominent member of the Village, and he stole the Book of Life, thinking he could do better than The Creator, and tore the pages from it because of his failed attempts. The Mayor asks The Hero to find and return the pages of the Book of Life, so The Creator can once again draw the missing objects from the Village.

The Hero starts by designing the Eternal Flame, which is used to clear the darkness from each section of the village, each time The Hero returns from completing a level. Along the way, The Hero rescue a cast of villagers, who agree to return to the Village and open up shops, restaurants and other places of interest. Mari begins training to take over as Mayor, and the Village plans a festival to celebrate. Meanwhile, adventure-hungry Jowee sneaks into a level, and The Hero has to save him and help find an appropriate gift for Mari. This reckless act causes a rift between Jowee and Mari, but they eventually make up and grow closer as they help The Hero restore the village to what it once was.

After numerous confrontations with Wilfre, he finally tricks The Mayor into appearing alone, and kills him. Mari and the villagers are devastated, but after seeing the village descend into chaos, decide to band together and stop Wilfre for good. The Hero defeats Wilfre, and returns to the Village. Jowee plans to leave on a treasure hunt, and after saying goodbye, Mari reminisces about the past, upset about losing her dad and best friend. The story ends with Mari on the beach, shocked at seeing Jowee walk up behind her. She runs to him happily, watched over by the spirit of The Mayor, and The Hero, on the cliff above.

Awards
Drawn to Life was nominated for "Outstanding Achievement in Story Development" at the 11th Annual Interactive Achievement Awards. At IGN's "Best of 2007" awards Drawn to Life won "Most Innovative Design" (DS) and was runner-up for "Best Platform Game" (DS).

In Game Spot's Best of 2007 the game was nominated for "Best Platformer" (All Systems) and "Best Original Game Mechanic." Nintendo Power nominated Drawn to Life for Best Platformer (Wii & DS) for its 2007 Nintendo Power Awards. Drawn to Life was also a finalist in the inaugural Independant Games Festival: Mobile awards for Achievement in Art and Audio Achivement.

Sales
From the game's launch in September 2007, until March 1, 2008, the game sold 820,000 units for the North American & Western European territories and ranked 61st of the top 100 selling video games of the last 12 months.

In THQ's 2007 holiday quarter sales conference call with investors, THQ President and CEO said the publisher was pleased with the performance of the franchise and that the game sold several hundred thousand units worldwide for the holiday season. Also, over THQ's past three fiscal quarters its DS sales had risen 94%, primarily driven by Drawn to Life.

The game was very well received in Australia making its debut on the Top 10 Australian sales chart for all platforms at #3. It continued to stay on the Top 10 sales chart over the next two months until Christmas.

It went on to have two sequels, one canon sequel and one noncanon sequel. It also spawned a spin-off game based around the Spongebob series: Drawn to Life: Spongebob Squarepants Edition.

Trivia Trivia
* In this installment, the player gets to draw the world, the trees, and the Raposa at the start of the game. Drawn to Life: The Next Chapter (Wii) is the only other game the player gets to draw the world of Raposa.
** Unlike the original game, the Wii game doesn't let the player draw the trees and Raposa. Instead, the player gets to draw the sun and the moon.
* The boxart for this game has two distinct versions, however, one is only seen in some English versions as well as the Japanese versions. The rest of the Drawn to Life covers of the world show the other version.
**The two differences between the boxarts are:
***The background of the case
***The style of Mari, Jowee, Mayor, and the Shadow Bat.
*This installment was David J Francos' favourite soundtrack that he composed, he was around 22 and he enjoyed focusing on just melodies. It put a smile on his face while he was composing it, and it puts a smile on his face listening to it still.

Drawn to Life: The Next Chapter
This page is about the song. For the world, click here

Real Life is a song that plays during the end credits in Drawn to Life: The Next Chapter. Written by David J Franco, performed By Melissa Clarke. An acoustic version was released on the Soundtrack for Drawn to Life: Two Realms.

<!-- I believe this would be better left to individual interpretation.
Analysis
The song is sung from both points of view of a boy and girl (or man and woman) imagining each other in dreams (drawing inside your own mind), then trying to find each other in real life (it's not easy, of course), and they are ultimately successful.

She's lucid-dreaming (knowing you're dreaming and controlling your dreams) of her true love and the return to the reality of not having him is making her sad, causing her to say, in resignation: "Make-believe... He'll hide forever. This is real life."

Notice how Melissa's pace and wording changes. That's his internal monologue as trying to keep his composure.

He's stuck in the same situation, telling himself: "Paint your world full of tones. Write the story so you know how it goes." She comes back in at "But my heart's alone."

He comes back in at "Take a deep breath, go for a walk" he's basically firing an emergency flare by "I'm pouring my heart and I'm spilling my soul".

She comes back "And I'm gasping for air 'cause he's (he has) given it all".

The second set of "I'm just trying to survive" background vocals is both of them. They're trying to find each other in real life.

The final verse is basically a duet. Melissa's voice is "her". The background vocalists are "him".
Lyrics
<pre>
Create a place through shapes and shades
Build a blinding stage where beauty's made
But when your colors fade, everything will change

I'm trying hard to imagine better
Daydream him, I'll wait forever
I'll pray that our paths blur, together

It might not be true, but it's the best I can do
It's only to keep a little piece of you
I can't keep it inside, I'll have to shout it out loud
All of the things I couldn't live without

And I'm pouring my heart, and I'm spilling my soul
And I'm taking a breath, and he's giving his all
And I want to walk out from the trouble I'm in
'Cause I'm really not sure where to begin

And if faking it will make it better
Better than it was before
And lies could bring us close together
So I won't be lonely no more

Pretending it doesn't matter
Could help me pass the time
Make-believe he'll hide forever

This is real life
This is real life
This is real life, oh oh oh
This is real life, oh oh

Paint your world full of tones
Write the story so you know how it goes
But my heart's alone until he comes home

He'll make a decision, he'll have no choice
And I'll hold him close, he'll hear my voice
And I'll pray we're together forever

Take a deep breath, go for a walk
Wish you were here 'cause we've got to talk
I can't keep it inside, I have to shout it out loud
All of the things I couldn't live without

And I'm pouring my heart, and I'm spilling my soul
And I'm gasping for air 'cause he's giving it all
He wants to wake up from the dream he's been in
And start it all over so we can really begin

Faking it will make it better
Better than it was before
And lies could bring us close together
So I won't be lonely no more

Pretending it doesn't matter
Could help me pass the time
I make-believe he'll hide forever

But this is real life
(I'm just trying to survive)
This is real life, ohhh
(Every day and night in real life)
This is real life, oh oh oh
(Take it one step at a time)
This is real life
(Make-believe, it ain’t real life)
It's time to see

Why he's taking the steps and he's making a stand
He's pulling down walls and doing all that he can
He's through with black and white and drawing the lines
Between make-believe and real life

(I'm just trying to survive)
This is real life
(Every day and night in real life)
This is real life, ohh oh oh
(Take it one step at a time)
This is real life oooh
(Make-believe, it ain’t real life)

My real dreams and real love
You need the things that you can touch
This make-believe is not enough
It's time to see a real life
Trivia
The writer and composer of the song, David J Franco, said a few things about the song lyrics, "Faking it - it's about not telling the truth to protect the other, also a play on real... fake.. etc.", "Lies could bring - it's about not telling the truth to protect the other. also a play on real... fake... etc.", and "That you can touch - you need real tangible things in your life. That's the meaning :)"

According to David J Franco, a bunch of guys in the office sung the backing vocals in real life at the end of production
