Key is a Raposa that appears in Drawn to Life: The Next Chapter and Drawn to Life: Two Realms as the chief engineer of Lavasteam and the creator of the Robosa. Key assists the Hero in shutting down the Robosa and defeating the Giant Robosa at the end of Lavasteam's story.
Appearance[edit]
Key is an adult, orange furred Raposa with an orange moustache. He wears reflective blue goggles, a blue hat, and overalls with a white undershirt. He is often seen holding a wrench.
Story[edit]
Drawn to Life: The Next Chapter[edit]
Key is the Chief Engineer of Lavasteam and created the Robosa to assist the miners in the village. However, when Miney took over as King and forced the Raposa villagers to mine Banya Crystals, he began overworking the Robosa, forcing them to mine Banya Crystals as well. Before the Color is drained from the village, Key enters the Magma Flow Factory to work on decommissioned Robosa. When the Color is drained, Key is trapped inside the Factory.
Eventually, Key is saved by the Hero, who is escorted out of the Factory by Key. Once outside, Key is met by Flint, who directs Key and the Hero to go meet Moe and Jowee on the other side of the village. Once everyone meets up, Key explains that the only way to shut down the Robosa would be to flip the Robosa Control Switch and use a key to access the switch, though Miney had the only key. Moe says that everything of Miney's was stored in Lavasteam's Village Hall - Clockwork Tower. However, before they can enter the Hall, Miney corners the four of them and throws them into the Tower's dungeon.
After escaping, Key watches as Miney loses the Robosa Control Key in the lava, and the Robosa begin revolting against the Raposa. The group runs back to the Magma Flow Factory and discusses how to create a second key. Key would get the materials needed to make the key while the Hero would get the key mold from the Robosa Foundry. Once the Hero gives Key the mold, he forges the new key and uses the Control Switch to shut them all down. Now that the Robosa were stopped, Salem secretly sneaks into the Volcanic Core and activates the Giant Robosa Prototype.
The Hero goes to defeat the Giant Robosa with Key's urging, and afterwards, Miney returns to the villagers and apologizes, renouncing himself as King. Key also apologizes for creating the Giant Robosa, and the villagers thank the Hero for their help. Later on, during Mari's prayer to the Creator, Key is seen gathered with other Lavasteam villagers outside the Core.
Drawn to Life: Two Realms[edit]
Between The Next Chapter and Two Realms, the Lavasteam District is established in Rapoville, and shortly before the game's events, Key decides to visit the District with Miney, Moe, and Crazy Diggs. He plays no major role in the story, only notably appearing in the credits, where he enters the mine in Rapoville with Moe, Crazy Diggs, and Jowee.
