Mari is the daughter of The Mayor, and later becomes the eighth mayor of the Rapoville. She was one of the remaining Raposa left in Rapoville, besides Jowee, The Mayor, and Cindi after the Darkness swept over.

She is determined and strong willed. She has low self esteem in the first game, but slowly gains confidence throughout her reign as mayor. She is very much like a teenager in her mood swings, her moments of sulking and bad temper, and she is also very insecure.

Mari is a Raposa that has orange fur and is depicted with brown wavy hair . Mari is wearing a pink scarf with a yellow dress and a pair of earrings.

Mari is the first character introduced in the Drawn to Life Series, and initially the only character who had not given up on the Creator. In Drawn to Life, the game opens with Mari pleading to the Creator to restore the village. Mari is surprised when the Creator agrees to help, and is then instructed to gather all the villagers and bring them to Creation Hall. But, when Mari's dad, The Mayor, tells her that the Creator abandoned them and refuses to believe her, Mari is left with only Jowee to accompany her. The two of them travel to Creation Hall and ask the Creator to unseal the door.

Inside Creation Hall, the Creator informs the pair that their request requires a Hero and that the Mayor's life is in danger. With a Hero to aid them, Mari then leads the group to the Village Entrance to search the Snow Fields for her dad, but when Wilfre introduces himself as the cause of the village's downfall and covers the bridge in Darkness, The Hero must instead travel through the Snow Gate to rescue the Mayor.

Her best friend is Jowee, a Raposa she has known her entire life who developed a crush on her. Jowee and Mari have been best friends ever since they were little Rapos. She once said that they used to wander off together and throw rocks into the Wishing Well.

After Wilfre killed her father, Mari became the mayor of the village.

Mari is shown to be handling all the mayor duties in Drawn To Life: The Next Chapter. At some point, she joins Wilfre because of something that he showed her. It is later revealed that Wilfre had told her that if they restored the color, they would all die. He also showed her Mike during his coma. He told her that if Mike woke up, then their world would end. Eventually, she rejoined her villagers against Wilfre and led the prayer to The Creator to help The Hero and to "give them strength to do what is right."

Who knew it stretched this far...? You remember our secret beach? We used to stare out to the sea... You were obsessed with leaving, and I was obsessed with keeping everyone happy. I'm glad you came back... When I saw that ship sailing off, I thought I had lost the one thing I couldn't live without...” –Mari Mari talking to Jowee on Turtle Rock. “Well, we're finally on our own adventure!” –Mari Mari talking to Jowee on Turtle Rock. “Honestly.... Hero, do you think we could use this to restore color?” –Mari When Madeleine shows the bottle of color she found. “Creator, would you please show us the way?” –Mari Mari asking The Creator to color the ground in Watersong. “We don't have time to waste! We need to find the mayor of this village!” –Mari “Why not? The Creator drew the lighthouse!” –Mari Upon Gabriel saying he still can't take the gang to the city. “That's a Skylamp Gong...” –Mari After Jowee calls the Skylamp Gong a "Skythingy". “In any case, we are going to take you home.” –Mari When meeting Miles for the first time. “All Raposa make mistakes. This time the darkness claimed noble intentions, and we prepared for the end of our world… But the end I thought was coming… Ended up as a new beginning. I know what I need to do. That's crazy. He always wears that mask.” –Mari “That's true, but... I'm beginning to think maybe Zsasha didn't steal those items. You must find him, HERO!” –Mari After Circi says Zsasha still could've stole the items without his mask on. “Still haven't found Zsasha, huh? I know the jungle is getting more dangerous, but you can't give up. You and Jowee need to return to the jungle so that we can clear this mystery up!” –Mari “HERO, Jowee... You have to find Zsasha. He's the key to solving this whole mystery.” –Mari “Welcome, the Creation Hall is where you can view and edit all of the drawings you've made on your adventures.” –Mari Mari giving the tutorial to Creation Hall. “Strange. Unfortunately, there's only one way to be sure... Yes... We have to return to the Shadow City to find out if WILFRE has returned.” –Mari “If that's true, he's probably after the Book of Life. Jowee, you and HERO have to go to Wilfre's Lair to find out what he's planning.” –Mari “Please, Jowee. This is really important. Besides, I thought you wanted adventure.” –Mari Mari convincing Jowee to go to Wilfre's Lair. “What the Rapo does Wilfre want with all those things anyway?” –Mari Mari wondering what Wilfre would want with The Crystal Mask, the Eternal Furnace, Branches from the Tree of Ages, and his Pen and Pencil. “Hmm. I'm not sure. I think we're missing something... Circi, take these items back to City Hall. Do not let anyone else near them! In the meantime, you should go ask Pirate Beard about this Eternal Furnace.” –Mari “You know what might help with those slippery slopes? Skates. Perhaps if you found some skates, you could travel over the ice.” –Mari “HERO, go talk to Farmer Brown. He knows a lot about the weather.” –Mari When it starts to snow in Rapoville. “HERO! Jowee! Mike just got back from his trip. I told him what's been going on in the village and... ...and he turned around and went through the Icy Gates to find the furnace! He said it sounded fascinating!” –Mari “Mike! Thank goodness you are ok!” –Mari After Mike's return from the Icy Gates. “This means the Tree of Ages is also in grave danger. If Wilfre's shadow creatures were to infest the tree, who knows what could happen!” –Mari “Thanks. I couldn't ask for better help.” –Mari After Jowee says she can count on him and The Hero. “I would talk to Galileo. He says he can see the Tree of Ages through his telescope.” –Mari “The village gets their water from the windmill. If the blades aren't turning, our water supply will dry up! HERO, do you think the Creator could replace the windmill blades?” –Mari “Well, the water's back, but now the electricity is acting up! Doesn't anything in this village work right?” –Mari “With Wilfre out there, it might not be safe for any Raposa to travel right now. HERO, could you go to Balancing Rock Garden and see if they are all right?” –Mari Upon finding out DJ and Erika left to find a honeymoon spot. “Good job finding DJ and Erika but we have bigger problems now. Much bigger.” –Mari “What are you two doing back here? Time is running out!” –Mari “HERO, thanks to you and Jowee, Wilfre won't be able to carry out his plans! Since most of the Items of Power are locked up at City Hall, WIlfre can't complete his plans to destroy the Creator!” –Mari “Circi? Are you in here? Who are you talking to?” –Mari Mari overhearing Circi talking to herself in City Hall “I thought something wasn't right! It wasn't Wilfre all along!” –Mari Mari realizing Circi was the shadowy figure the entire time. “Thank you, HERO! This should help you!” –Mari Mari giving The Hero health during the final boss battle. “What a terrible waste. I can't believe I was fooled by Circi.” –Mari “I did? You're right! I did! And now... Oh, Creator! What should we do with the Items of Power?” –Mari After Jowee comforts Mari, saying she guided the village to safety. “Thank you, Creator. Now what do WE do?” –Mari After The Creator casts the Items of Power into the sea. “First my father and now Circi. Wilfre's evil has taken a lot from me, but I have you to thank that the loss was not greater!” –Mari

• According to Joseph Tringali, Mari's name is pronounced "Maa-ree".
• Oddly, an alternative cover art for the Drawn to Life depicts Mari in a red and pink attire.
• At the beginning of Drawn to Life, Mari expresses that she has lived in the village her entire life and that it would be neat to see the world one day.
• Mari is referred to as MAYONAISE within Drawn to Life's code.
  • There is a scene at the beginning of Drawn to Life where Mari asks Isaac why he won't sell any more Mayonnaise jars. This event could be a reference to the name.
  • It was revealed in an interview with Jeremiah Slaczka that Mayonnaise was supposedly her original name.
    • In the Milestone 5 Build of the game, her name was changed from Mayonnaise to Madison.
• In another 5th Cell game named Lock's Quest, Mari, Wilfre and the Mayor all are an Easter Egg where their names are written on gravestones.
