–Prompt
Draw Mode is the main creative mode in Drawn to Life: SpongeBob SquarePants Edition, consisting of many different tools and features like the rest of the series. Draw Mode automatically activates every time the player goes to edit a creation, draw an object and create or edit DoodlePants. Character creation also features thirteen pre-made character templates based on various characters from the main series, which can be spawned by pressing the L Button and cycled through with the L and R Buttons.
The drawing utilizes the DS' touch screen like the mainline games, although the player can still draw using the D-Pad and A Button if they wish. Unlike the mainline games, however, the player can only save one Hero and is unable to alter body proportions.
Main Mode
The player can use 7 different tools and 15 colors for their creations. These include 3 brush sizes, a standard paint bucket tool, an eraser (which is also affected by the size of the pen), a one-time undo button and a clear button. Despite not being placed within the toolbox and on the canvas itself, the player may also zoom into their drawings and activate the grid by tapping the magnifying glass.
Despite being limited to 15 colors, the player may unlock up to 10 more color palettes by finding Bikini Bottom residents and clearing Doodle Scribble within levels. Color palettes may be purchased in the Krusty Krab in-game shop after they're found.
