This subpage is to document any and all mentions of time in the Drawn to Life Series and their implications. To do this, I'm using the transcript pages and searching for all uses of "hour", "day", "tomorrow", "week", "month", and "year", as well as "spring", "summer", "fall/autumn", and "winter", and terms like "morning", "afternoon", "evening", "night". I'll only remark on them if they tells us new or notable information.

Day

Circi: Have you noticed that thief, Zsasha, left town a couple days ago? Right before things went missing?!

Zsasha has been gone for a couple days, meaning he couldn't have been captured by Circi/Monkey King that long ago. Also means that the disappearances are very recent.

Farmer Brown: My whole Banya crop is gone. One day here, the next day vanished!

The disappearances in the village seem to have happened overnight, likely because Circi's Shadow form blends in.

Zsasha: Whew! I'll be glad to get back to the village. That crazy Monkey King held me captive for days.

Zsasha was only gone for a couple days, assuming the time between calling the Hero and rescuing him was a negligible amount of time. Either he was caught shortly after leaving Rapoville or he never actually left and was captured to begin with.

Zsasha: UGH. Sorry, but I don't feel well today.

Tundara is the start of a new day in the village.

Isaac: Hello, "Hero". I apologize for the other day.

Isaac is upset for the previous level, Floating Meadows, and is apologizing on the day of Roab Plateaus, meaning that Roab happens on a new day.

Note: There are multiple mentions of "good day" or "today" that don't imply a day has passed and have been omitted. Cookie's mention of a "wedding day feast" is also omitted, because he explicitly says that the feast is for "tomorrow". Whether the ending of the game, post-Circi Loves Wilfre, is the feast is not clear.

Tomorrow

Heather: I hope it snows tomorrow. Then I can skip school!

Heather is in school, doesn't have it today - the day Crystal Caverns happens - but does have it tomorrow - which is Roab Plateaus at the latest.

Chef Cookie: Has anyone seen ze happy couple? Ze wedding feast is tomorrow!

The wedding, or at least the reception, is the day after Balancing Rock Garden happens. Unknown whether or not this refers to the celebration post-Circi Loves Wilfre.

Year

Cricket: I haven't seen a snow like this in over thirty years!

Cricket is at least 30 years old.

Note: The other two mentions of "year" refer to the distant past and don't actually enlighten us on much about the timeframe of the games or characters - Zsasha has been stealing from Isaac for years, and that the Monkey King hasn't made an appearance to the Raposa in years.

Summer

Jowee: What the Rapo? It's summer time. Why is it snowing?

Jowee: It's s...summertime! W...where the Rapo did all this s..snow come from?

This game takes place during the summer.

Implications

• Heather is going to school in the summer, meaning that she's enrolled in a year long school system, or she's in summer school.
• Drawn to Life: The Next Chapter (Wii) takes place over at least three days:
  • Start to Tundara
  • Tundara to Roab Plateaus
  • Roab Plateaus to End

Hour

Mayor: Wilfre has created an almost impenetrable barrier which grows stronger by the hour.

The barrier on Wilfre's Wasteland is magic in nature and has been up for at least a few hours.

Day

???: What do you remember about that day?

???: Could you draw us a picture of what happened that day based on your answers?

The Police Officer is interviewing Heather at least a few days after the fact. This means Mike was in a coma for at least a few days.

Butler: Rose grows weaker by the day, and without the voice, her life hangs by a thread.

Rose: Every day without my voice, I was reminded that I gave up everything...

Rose has been without her voice for a few days, meaning that Salem appeared at least a few days ago.

Flint: Even so, I'm getting sore. I haven't had a break in three days!

Miney has been overworking the miners of Lavasteam for at least three days.

Kamalah: What will today's law be? Maybe a new rule in the Articles of Clothing? Or a Restrictions in Mannerisms Decree?

The Council hands down at least one law per day. Or rather, recently, they've handed down at least one law per day.

Week

Sprocket: 'Course, I haven't heard it blow for bout two weeks now.

Miney has been overworking the miners of Lavasteam for at least around two weeks.

Year

Jowee: Click has kept your village intact all these years... Why not choose him to be the mayor of your village?

The Council has been leading Galactic Jungle for a few years.

Morning

Jowee: Pirate Beard said we'll reach the island in the morning!

Turtle Rock docking at Watersong marks the start of a new day.

Afternoon

Alphonse: Good afternoon, sir. Lovely weather about, isn't there?

Unless Alphonse doesn't understand what "afternoon" means, it is past the halfway mark of the day by the time Faraway Beach is cleared.

Evening

Rose: I will sing my final song during this evening's festivities. With that, the voice will be transferred.

Miles: Oh, I hope you're coming to the opera performance this evening. It's been so long since the last one!

The Watersong Festival and BakiBeard's Ship take place in the evening or night.

Night

While no dialogue says the word "night", there is a nighttime scene on Turtle Rock's balcony twice, one immediatley after beating Watersong and one before docking at Lavasteam, so there is at least one full day of travel between the two villages.

Implications

• Due to Salem appearing in Watersong the same day NavyJ and co. appears, but also that Wilfre attacks Rapoville on the day after Heather finds the scepter, Wilfre leaves for Watersong immediatley after attacking Rapoville, and the trip from Rapoville to Watersong takes at least a few days.
• At the very least, the events of Jowee landing on Lavasteam take place around two weeks after the game starts. Due to a tight timeline at the beginning of the game, and Miney already overworking the villagers when Cookie and co. arrive, it is likely that Salem visited Lavasteam before attacking Rapoville.
• The Council has existed for years, and Click knows Wilfre by his true name, so it's incredibly likely that the corruption of Galactic Jungle occurred before Wilfre's death in Drawn to Life.
• The story of Watersong either takes place over multiple days or over a half-day, unknown which is more likely.

Day

Mike: They actually helped me handle a Tony-freak-out the other day.

There is at least a few days in Belleview between Scooter Thieves Beware and first meeting Aly in the Belleview Park.

Mike: So yesterday wasn’t a crazy dream after all then?

There is a day change in Belleview between Darkness Surrounds and the Ice Cream Shop event.

There is a day change in Rapoville between Fields and Planters and speaking with Mari again.

Month

Intro Text: Gary hasn't made a payment on his forklift in 3 months. That ain't right!

Either Gary or Mr. Celek have been enthralled by Aldark's Shadows for around three months.

Year

Mr. Ford: Did you know that this town is over one hundred and seventeen years old? That's ancient!

Belleview is at least 117 years old.

Mike: That was two years ago!

Mike missed Heather's birthday two years ago.

Aly: This town has changed a lot in the past four years...

Heather: After the carnival... A few years ago.

Deputy Snyder: I’ve not had a single peaceful night’s rest in four years.

It's been four years since the accident Mike and Deputy Snyder were in.

Mari: Years ago, you asked me to go on an adventure.

The events of Drawn to Life were "years ago", likely also four years ago.

Summer

Willy Martinez: I suppose I should let the kids have some breathing room for summer activities.

Mike: Looks like it's gonna be a good summer.

The game takes place around the end of spring/start of summer.

Morning

Mari: You should probably wait until morning to go back.

There is a day change in Belleview between Darkness Surrounds and meeting Aly in the Belleview Park.

Mike: Wow. I can’t believe it’s morning already...

There is a day change in Belleview between Cambium Exploration and Turmoil of the Mind.

Night

Aly: Then my dad just stormed out last night.

Bruce left the house the night that Mike goes to Rapoville.

Mike: I wanted to check on you. After last night...

There is a day change in Belleview between the Ice Cream Shop and Turmoil of the Mind.
