'''Rust-Furred Raposa''' are a special subspecies of [[Raposa]] that previously inhabited [[Shadow City]] before it was attacked by [[Shadow]], then known as [[Fanon:Rust City|Rust City]]. They currently reside all around the Raposa realm, living in [[Rapoville]], [[Lavasteam]], and [[Rapocity]] among other places. As they are Raposa, they all believe in the [[Creator]], although some have actively worked against them, such as [[Fanon:Athys|Athys]] and [[Circi]]. The rust-fur gene was originally a mutation found in a Raposa from Shadow City, but as it allowed the Raposa to live longer, it began to spread.

Raposa with rust colored fur age at a rate that is drastically slower than a typical Raposa, with some Rust-Furred Raposa living to be around 500 years old. The Rust-Fur gene itself can also be harnessed and used as a medicinal tool to cure injuries and natural deaths such as strokes, heart attacks, and cancer. The Rust-Furred gene is recessive, which means that certain Raposa can carry it and pass it onto their children while not having the appearance or abilities of a Rust-Furred Raposa.

As Rust-Furred Raposa are still Raposa, their appearance is generally both fox-like and humanoid. Their bodies are covered in rust colored fur everywhere except for their faces. Like real foxes, all Raposa have long upright ears, a distinguishing feature; female Raposa have no fur over their ears, whereas males do. However, they appear to lack tails.
