“It's not about what's best for us...
it's about doing what is right.”
–Mari
Mari is one of the main characters throughout the entire Drawn to Life Series. She is the daughter of Mayor, and succeeded him, becoming the eighth mayor of Rapoville. She is also Jowee's finacee, as the two are currently engaged. We meet Mari as a lonely girl in Rapoville, praying to the Creator, asking for them to return to the Raposa world. He agreees to help her, granting her a Hero, and she begins to help restore the world. During this time, she is unwillingly training to become mayor, and is thrust into the role after Wilfre killed her father. Mari is filled with rage towards the Hero and the Creator, but after learning that Wilfre was defeated, she apologizes and asks the Creator to sign their name into the Book of Life. Mari would later officially become the mayor of the village.
As mayor, Mari helped the village grow to new bounds, and all of the villagers began to rely on her. However, when Heather goes missing and the Color begins to drain from the world, Mari watches as a revived Wilfre kidnaps most of the villagers and drains the village of its color. She, along with the remaining villagers, escape onto Turtle Rock and sail to Watersong, where Mari meets Mayor Rose. Mari empathizes with her fears of inadequacy, and after saving Watersong from Wilfre, Mari vanishes. In reality, she had defected to join Wilfre in draining the color, so that the Raposa world could live on. However, she is swayed back to the Creator's side when Jowee refuses to join Wilfre. Mari leads the Raposa realm in a prayer for the Hero, and eventually, asks the Creator to wake up Mike.
Four years after Mike awakens, Mari is still running Rapoville. However, the villagers began to get lazy and selfish. She also receives word from a twice-revived, Shadowless Wilfre that the Human realm was in danger, so she asks the Creator for another Hero, giving it the Book of Imagination. Mari would act as a point of connection for both Mike and the Hero as they travelled between Rapoville and Belleview in their quest to stop Aldark's scheme. After Aldark's defeat, Mari and Jowee are warned that Aldark's plans were much more sinister, and that he could come back. Some time later, Jowee proposes to Mari, and the two are engaged.
Personality
Mari is a determined and strong willed Raposa, being one of the last Raposa to hold onto her faith. However, she is shown to have low-self confidence, not believing that she can be a good mayor for her people. Despite this self-doubt, she puts on a brave face for the Raposa, and is a good leader to her people. She is able to hold onto her faith in the Creator, although her desire to help her villagers was manipulated by Wilfre to sway her to his side at one point. However, she continued to be a strong mayor to her people and put their needs above hers.
Appearance
Mari is a Raposa that has orange fur and is depicted with brown wavy hair. She wears a pink scarf with a yellow dress and a pair of earrings.
Story
Before Drawn to Life
Mari was born after Wilfre scattered the Book of Life, and as such, never lived with the Creator in her life. As she grew up, she lived with her father, the Mayor, became good friends with Jowee, and started to believe in the Creator. As time passed, Mari noticed the Darkness covering the village, and watched as the entire village left. After some time, she decided that enough was enough and made a prayer to the Creator, begging them to come back.
Drawn to Life
To her surprise, the Creator responds, telling her that they needed to create a Hero to stop Wilfre, but that Mari needed to gather all the remaining villagers at Creation Hall. In her attempt to gather everyone, she wakes Jowee up, but is unable to stop Isaac and Mya from leaving. She is also unable to convince her father to stay behind, so she takes Jowee to Creation Hall alone. The Creator then decides to unseal the Hall, allowing the two of them inside. Inside the hall, Mari watches as the Creator brings the Hero to life. Mari asks the Hero to find Cindi, and after finding her, the group travels to the Village Entrance.
Snow Gate
At the entrance, Mari is confronted by Wilfre, a Raposa corrupted by Shadow. Mari learns that Wilfre had kidnapped Mayor, and he blocks the entrance with Darkness, forcing the group to use the Snow Gate to save him. When the Hero returns with the Mayor, Mari watches Cindi run through the Snow Gate to find her parents. When the Hero returns with Isaac's family, Mari listens to her dad recount Wilfre's origins. When the story is finished, Mari asks the Creator to restore the Village Pedestal to bring back the Eternal Flame. After clearing the darkness from Isaac's Shop, Mari shows the Hero the Wishing Well, telling them that something fun might happen if they deposited 10,000 Rapo-Coins.
Mari then asks to meet you at Creation Hall, where she tells you that you can redraw your Creations in Creation Hall. For the next few levels, Mari is seen interacting with the villagers and helping improve morale, such as participating in the Snow Fight, renaming the village, and asking the Hero to find the Rain Clouds for the village. After the Rain Clouds are restored, Mari goes inside Creation Hall, finding a diary written by the previous mayors. The Mayor explains it's purpose and tells Mari that she would soon be the eighth mayor of Rapoville. She reluctantly accepts that her training would begin and goes to find Jowee. However, after she finds him, Wilfre appears once more and threatens her father's life before setting Frostwind onto the village.
Forest Gate
After Frostwind's defeat, the Hero brings Heather back to the village, and Mari feels sorry for her, as she is clearly scared. Mari then attends a meeting where the villagers are upset that the Sun never sets, and she laments that preparations for the festival were going to begin. Later, as Mari talks to her father, the Hero informs her that Jowee ran through the Forest Gate, frightening Mari. When the Hero returns with Jowee, Mari is relived to see that he's safe, but she's still upset that he seems to be more focused on adventure than spending time with her. For the next few levels, Mari is angry at Jowee but also nervous about the upcoming festival. Despite the Hero finding her for the festival, she hides by the Forest Gate instead of attending.
At the Forest Gate, Jowee apologizes to Mari for running off, explaining that he got her a present, giving her a book about whales. However, Zsasha appears, returning a stolen item to Jowee, allowing Jowee to give Mari her real gift - a flower. Mari is instantly happier, and she agrees to return to the Village Stage for the festival. On the stage, Mari gives a speech praising her dad's time as mayor, and promising the village that she would try her best to live up to him. After the festival, Mari welcomes Galileo's family back to the village and then tries to break up a dispute between Chef Cookie and Isaac. She is unable to resolve their dispute, but before she can try anything else, Wilfre appears again, mocking her and warning the Hero of Deadwood.
Beach Gate
After the Hero saved Deadwood and returns with Samuel, Mari decides to explore the recently cleared Beach with Jowee. She finds the Template for the Starzooka in a washed up bottle, so she gives it to the Hero. Later, when the beach gets too crowded, Mari goes east and discovers the Secret Beach. She meets with her dad on the beach, and they have the idea to plant some Kori Trees. Later, after getting a laundry list of chores from her dad, she invites Jowee to the secret beach, and the two talk about the Creator. When Heather and the Hero walk in on them, Mari proposes that they build a Statue for the villagers to unite them. After the statue is completed, the village admires it, but Mari notices that Isaac and Cookie are still fighting. This upsets her, and when Indee takes Jowee to the beach to search for treasure, Mari asks the Hero to watch after him. Later, when Pirate Beard docks at the Rapoville Docks, he tries to get Mari to join his crew, but she runs away.
City Gate
Even later, she welcomes Mike into the village, questioning why his ears look the way they do. After this, she meets Jowee at the secret beach, where she remembers that her dad asked her to make the preparations for a village meeting, so she runs off to tell her dad. At the Village Hall, Mayor tells her that she needs to be more responsible, and she runs off to the secret beach after telling him to pick a new mayor.
At the beach, she laments that she can't go exploring the world, and she refuses to meet with her father about Unagi. She leaves the beach when Jowee gets her, telling her that her dad is in trouble. She runs to the Forest Gate, where Dr. Cure informs her that he had passed on. As everyone else leaves except Jowee and the Hero, she watches as his body fades away. Mari then gets incredibly upset with the Hero, blaming them for her father's death. However, when the creations begin to disappear, Mari finds the resolve to bring the village together with Jowee while the Hero fights Wilfre.
After Wilfre is defeated, Mari inserts the Final Page into the Book of Life, asking the Creator to sign their name in the book while she continues to prepare for her role as mayor. However, while the Hero runs around the village saying goodbye, Mari and Jowee return to the secret beach, and Mari confronts Jowee about wanting to leave the village, telling him that she thinks he should go. He is upset that he can't bring her with him, but Mari says goodbye as he board Pirate Beard's ship. After he leaves, Mari walks around the village reminiscing on their lives together, but it surprised to see that Jowee stayed behind, electing to stay with her in Rapoville.

Some time later, Mari decided to hire Circi, a Raposa who fled Rapoville, as her Deputy Mayor. The two of them worked together for some time when the Book of Life goes missing. Currently overwhelmed by the current affairs of the village, still rebuilding from Wilfre's damages, she asks the Creator to give them a new Hero. The Creator agrees, and a Hero is granted to the village. Hearing from Heather that Crazy Barks took the Book, Mari sends Circi and the Hero to find him. After they find Crazy Barks protecting the Book, Circi asks why the Book is so important, so Mari explains the history of Wilfre and her father to Circi.
Jangala
After this Mari asks Circi, Jowee, and the Hero if they can help her figure out why various objects were vanishing. Circi and Jowee propose that Zsasha could be behind the thievery, so Mari sends Jowee and the Hero to Jangala to find him. When they return with only his mask, Mari begins to think that Zsasha is innocent, but she urges them to keep looking. However, Isaac's Door is stolen, and while the Hero is recovering it, the Banya crop is stolen. When the crop is restored, Jowee tells her that it was Monkeys stealing things from the village. Mari decides to go ask the Monkey King what was going on, so she sends Jowee and the Hero after him.
Shadow City
When Jowee and the Hero return from the Treetop Village, they tell Mari that the Monkey King had Zsasha captive. Zsasha recognizes the Crystal Mask that the Monkey King gave them, saying that a Shadowy Figure was trying to steal it, causing Mari to fear that Wilfre had returned. Circi hears this and begins spreading the word of Wilfre's return, so Mari sends the Hero to Shadow City to double check. After finding a Page from Wilfre's Journal, a secret passage into the village, and the restarted Ink Factory, they report to Mari, confirming her suspicions. She then sends Jowee and the Hero into Wilfre's Lair to find out what he was planning.
Icy Wastes
When Jowee and the Hero return from his lair, now with Wilfre's Journal, a Pen, and a Pencil, Mari reads the journal with Jowee and Circi, learning about the Artifacts of Power - the Crystal Mask, Wilfre's Pen and Pencil, the Eternal Furnace, and Branches from the Tree of Ages. Mari asks Circi to secure the Mask, Pen, and Pencil in Village Hall, and she asks Jowee and the Hero to go hunt down the Eternal Furnace. Jowee and the Hero learn that the Eternal Furnace is in the Icy Wastes, so Mari suggests that they find some Skates to easily travel over the ice.
Suddenly, it begins to snow in Rapoville, despite it being summer. Jowee and the Hero manage to stop the snow and help more around the village. While they are exploring The Baldy Slopes for DJ, Mike returns from a trip, and Mari fills him on what had happened so far. After hearing that Jowee and the Hero were searching for the Eternal Furnace, he runs into the Icy Wastes. Mari sends Jowee and the Hero after him, and when they return, Mari chastises him for running off. Mike reveals that he had a dream of finding the Furnace, so he marks its location on Mari's map.
Eastern Winds
Unfortunately, Jowee and the Hero are too late, and they watch the Shadowy Figure steal the Eternal Furnace. Mari concludes that this means the Tree of Ages would also be in danger. Mari asks Jowee and the Hero to find Galileo, as he was able to see the Tree of Ages from the Village Observatory. As Jowee and the Hero begin to travel the Land of the Eastern Winds, Mari learns that the Windmill Blades had vanishes, cutting off the village's water supply. After the Creator restores the blades, the electricity in the Lighthouse fails, and after replacing the lights, Mari is informed that DJ and Erika had run off to the Balancing Rock Garden.
When the newlyweds return to Rapoville, Galileo informs Mari that Giant Shadow Bats were spotted above The Drifting Isles, so she sends Jowee and the Hero to the Tree of Ages. Jowee and the Hero return to Rapoville with the Branches from the Tree of Ages, and Mari celebrates, as Wilfre couldn't gather all the Artifacts. Circi decides to take the branches to Village Hall with the other Artifacts, but Mari and Jowee watch her reveal the Eternal Furnace. Circi reveals that she was the Shadowy Figure all along and that Wilfre was still deceased. Circi begins assembling the Artifacts into a Dark Mannequin, and she tries to use it to revive Wilfre. When Circi fails and creates the Giant Scribble Monster, Rapoville is flooded with Shadow, and Mari is stranded on top of Village Hall. She helps the Hero fight the Scribble Monster and the Mannequin, giving them the occasional Heart. After the defeat of the Monster, Mari laments that Wilfre has taken so much from the village, but celebrates with the rest of the village.
Drawn to Life: The Next Chapter
Some time later, Mari wakes up and is unable to find Heather, so she wakes Jowee up to help her look. The two of them leave Jowee's House but are immediately stopped by a wave of villagers requesting her help around the villagers. Overwhelmed by the large group of Raposa, she asks them to wait and asks if any of them had seen Heather. None of them had, so Mari and Jowee go to Creation Hall and ask the Creator for a Hero. However, right before the Creator can grant their wish, the Color is drained from the mannequin. Mari and Jowee look around in shock, watching as the rest of Creation Hall begins to lose its color. They run out to see the building, along with other parts of the village, completely drained of color.
As the villagers scatter in fear, Wilfre appears to taunt Mari, calling her foolish and telling her that she has no idea why he does what he does. He brushes Mari off, and after he is confronted by the Creator, Mari watches as he kidnaps the villagers, save for Pirate Beard, Crazy Barks, Mike, Isaac, Cindi, Jowee, and herself. Wilfre gets one more taunt in as he portals away using his Scepter, and she watches as Heather is revealed to be trapped underneath Wilfre's Shadow. Heather calls out to them to stop Wilfre and she is taken by the portal, leaving her pendant behind. The remaining villagers group up by the Eternal Flame, but the color begins to drain again, and they run for the Docks.
Turtle Rock
At the docks, they find that someone stole Pirate Beard's ship, and Mari prays to the Creator for a new ship. Just then, Turtle Rock appears, and everyone jumps on board as the last parts of Rapoville lose their color. On board Turtle Rock, Mari and Jowee find a new Creation Hall, so they go inside to ask for a new Hero. This time, their prayers are answered and a new Hero appears. After learning the Hero's name, Mari notices that Heather's Pendant was glowing in Jowee's pocket. As Jowee pulls it out, he accidentally drops it below Creation Hall, into the Forgotten Library, so Mari asks the Hero to go retrieve it.
When the Hero returns, Mari, Jowee, and Mike are called into the Map Room by Pirate Beard. Inside, the Hero returns the Pendant to Jowee, and Mari watches it mark a location into the map in the center of the room. The Hero sets course to Watersong, and Mari continues to explore what Turtle Rock has to offer. That night, Mari is on Turtle Rock's deck, and when Jowee joins her, she thanks him for staying behind after the events of the first game. He tells her that he couldn't go without her, and accidentally lets slip that they could tell this story to their hypothetical kids. She is shocked by this, and after a bit of wondering about the near future, she goes to bed.
Watersong
The next morning, when Turtle Rock docks at Watersong, Mari, Jowee, and the Hero go onto the island to find the entire village drained of color, save for a small space where the dock is. As the Hero talks to Madeleine, she mentions a Raposa with silly hair, which Mari recognizes as NavyJ, one of the kidnapped villagers. After telling Madeleine that Rapoville lost its color too, Madeleine hands over her jar of color, and Mari suggests that they restore the boathouse on the beach. The Hero then explores the Faraway Beach to find more color. After coming back with more color, Mari asks the Creator to restore the ground.
After the ground and the gondola port are restored, Gabriel thanks the group for the color and promises to help them meet Mayor Rose. However, the Lighthouse (TNC) had gone missing, so Mari asks the Creator to restore it. After restoring it and sending the Hero to collect the Skylamp Gong, Gabriel takes the group to a different part of Watersong where Rose's Mansion is located. After asking the Creator to restore the ground in this part of the village, Mari, Jowee, and the Hero find Miles being chased by Salem. Miles runs and hides behind the Hero, so Salem leaves Miles with them. Mari asks if he's alright and tries to take him home, but he runs off, running into Sock.
Sock freaks out after seeing the Hero, so Mari and Jowee assure him that the Hero means no harm, and they invite him into their party to help him find his village. The group then finds Rose's Mansion devoid of color, so Mari asks the Creator to restore it. After this, Mari decides to go in alone, so she gives the Book of Life to Jowee. Inside the mansion, she calls out for Mayor Rose, meeting Butler instead. She tells him that she wants to meet about Miles, so Butler brings her to the courtyard to meet Rose.
In the courtyard, Mari learns that Rose had lost her voice, and Butler explains the circumstances of Rose losing her voice in a challenge with Salem. Mari then agrees to help find Miles, since finding the Promise Conch would be near impossible, and Butler urges her to never make promises that she can't keep. Outside the mansion, Mari sees that Jowee, Miles, and the Hero had returned, so they resolve to find the Promise Conch to save Rose. However, Salem appears to taunt the group, telling them that time was ticking and that they would fail. Mari gets annoyed as Miles runs over to where Salem had appeared, finding seaweed that only grows in The Abyss.
Mari, Jowee, and the Hero go to the edge of the sea, searching for The Abyss, but realize they can't make it without a Boat. After receiving a Boat from the Creator, Mari sends the Hero off to The Abyss. When the Hero returns with the Promise Conch, the group runs back to Rose's Mansion, giving the Conch to Butler. Mari asks the Creator to undo the vow on the Conch, and Rose's voice is returned. Rose asks to see Mari in the courtyard, so Mari leaves with Rose and Butler. In the courtyard, Rose reveals that she feels unfit to lead the village, so she plans on transferring the Power of Song to Miles that night. Rose then asks that Mari, Jowee, Sock, and the Hero not be in Watersong for the opera, as it would only make things harder on Miles. Mari reluctantly agrees, and their group boards Turtle Rock to leave Watersong.
Back on Turtle Rock's deck, Mari explains to Jowee what Rose told her. Jowee criticizes her decision, and Mari explains that mayors have to make difficult decisions to best benefit the village. Mari reminisces on her father's death, and determining to prevent Miles from feeling that pain, her, Jowee, and the Hero return to her mansion to stop her from transferring the Power of Song to Miles. They arrive after the Creator had already stopped the process however, arriving just in time to stop Salem and two Ameba from attacking Rose, Miles, and Butler. Mari watches Salem reveal himself to be Wilfre in disguise, but before they can chase him down, Baki Beard crashes into Watersong, so the group deals with keeping the citizens safe.
After dealing with Baki Beard, Mari, Jowee, and the Hero return to Turtle Rock's deck. On the deck, Mari explains how no one understands what she goes through as mayor, and in an attempt to cheer her up, Jowee uses the reset Promise Conch, vowing to protect and support Mari to the best of his ability. He then throws the active Promise Conch into the sea, never to be seen again. Mari seems upset by this, and sometime later that night, she vanishes.
Lavasteam/Galactic Jungle
Some time that night, Mari encounters Wilfre by some means unknown to the player. During this encounter, Wilfre takes Mari to the Hall of Darkness and shows her what he had learned to get her help. Thanks to the power of the Shadow, Wilfre had learned that the Raposa world was directly linked to the subconscious of Mike. Mike was currently in a coma, and if he woke up, their world would be destroyed. Thus, Wilfre began taking the color from the world in an attempt to keep Mike comatose. Mari was swayed by his argument for the Raposa realm, so she decided to defect to his side.
For the rest of the game, Jowee hunts for Mari, only seeing her two times before the game's climax. Once in Lavasteam, watching her enter an uncolored Mine Cart Mayhem. However, Jowee is unable to catch up to her. Mari is next seen inside Jowee's Room on Turtle Rock, searching for the Book of Life. Jowee walks in and tells her that he held onto it, and he gives it back to Mari. To his shock, Mari begins ripping pages out of the Book of Life, running outside and jumping into one of Wilfre's portals with it.
Wilfre's Wasteland
Mari is not seen again until the group arrives at Wilfre's Wasteland. When they dock, Mari asks Jowee to leave and let them work, but Jowee refuses to let them work against the Creator. Mari is upset at Jowee for filling in the ground of the village, and he refuses to listen to her or Wilfre, whom she was now working with, so Wilfre kidnaps him to show him the same thing he showed Mari. After the Hero breaks down Wilfre's barrier using the Village Altars and Village Orbs, Mari is swayed back to the Creator's side when Jowee continues to hold faith, despite seeing what Wilfre showed him. Mari then urges the Hero to go fight Wilfre.
As the Hero enters the Hall of Darkness, Mari begins to lead the Raposa world in prayer, asking for all the color to be restored. The Creator does so, allowing the Hero to destroy Wilfre and free Heather. The group decides to return to Rapoville, and Mari explains that she did what she did in the name of the village, but she realized that the Creator's plans involved more than the village. Once returning to Rapoville, the villagers that weren't kidnapped gather around the Eternal Flame, and the Creator taps the flame. Just then, Mike asks Mari what Wilfre showed her in the first place to get her to change sides. Mari reveals that Wilfre showed her Mike, saying "he showed me you." After Mari reveals this to Mike, the Raposa vanish from his view, and he wakes up from his coma. The Raposa world continued to exist despite Mike waking up, mainly due to the memories Mike still held of the Raposa - including Mari.

“Hi Dad... Hello everyone... You all know me... My Dad decided it's time for me to start my training to become Mayor... I guess I'm all grown up now... I'll probably never live up to my Dad... He's been the greatest Mayor ever... But I can do my best... I'm glad everyone is back... and I hope more Raposa return... That's all I can think of...”
–Mari Mari's speech during the festival.
“I had a lot of fun... I should practice my speech next time though...”
–Mari Mari right after the festival
“Galileo was the smartest Rapo in our village!”
–Mari Upon Galileo's return.
“So how was it? Whenever you leave, I can't wait to hear about your adventures!”
–Mari Mari asking The Hero about Star Forest.
“A meteor shower? Isn't that dangerous?! You better not get yourself injured!”
–Mari Upon The Hero telling Mari that there was a meteor shower.
“I bet they were fast! You must be sick of seeing trees by now...”
–Mari Upon The Hero saying they rode a zip line.
“So... Isaac, why won't you sell Cookie any more mayonnaise jars?”
–Mari
“No one listens... Oh, Hero... I dunno if I'm capable of being Mayor...”
–Mari
“Yeah... A piece of paper in an old rapobottle...”
–Mari Mari saying what she and Jowee found by digging in the sand.
“Yeah... Or some secret love letter...”
–Mari Mari suggesting what the paper in the rapobottle could be.
“It looks like a page torn from The Book of Life... Hi, Hero! We found something that maybe you can use...”
–Mari Mari opening the rapobottle to find a page from The Book of Life.
“Hero... Everyone heard about the beach... Now it's too crowded... Hey... Do you think The Creator could clear the darkness over this cove? Then we can keep this beach a secret...”
–Mari
“This is so awesome... This beach will be our secret... Okay, Hero?”
–Mari
“Yeah... Hey... I bet he would like to see this beach... Hero, could you go tell him to visit me here? He should see the view!”
–Mari After The Hero tells Mari that her dad wants to see her.
“It does feel a little empty... I know my Dad is looking for me... But I wanna stay here longer... Hero, could you go tell him to visit me here? He should see the view!”
–Mari After The Hero tells her the secret beach looks empty.
“Yeah, I've been thinking about that... The beach needs something natural though...”
–Mari After her Dad tells her the secret beach feels empty.
“Hi, Hero... My Dad just gave me a bunch of chores to do... Crazy Barks was chasing some Raposa around... And Cookie is still fighting with Isaac...”
–Mari
“...What's Jowee been doing? Is he still searching for treasure? We should tell him about the beach... Hero, find Jowee and invite him here! I bet he's digging up the north beach!”
–Mari
“It's been tough... The villagers fight a lot... I wish they would remember how much The Creator has done for us...”
–Mari After Jowee asks how her training is going.
“Hey Jowee... How do you think The Creator sees us...?”
–Mari
“That's the dumbest thing I ever heard...”
–Mari Mari's response to Jowee's idea of how The Creator sees them.
“Heather! Hero! We were uh... trying to think of an idea to unite the villagers... Something to help them remember everything The Creator has done for us...”
–Mari Upon her and Jowee's private moment at the secret beach being interrupted by Heather and The Hero.
“I like that idea! There probably was a page for it in The Book of Life... Hero, could you explore The Angler Isle and find the Village Statue page? Maybe that will bring the villagers together...”
–Mari After Jowee suggests the idea of a village statue.
“Hi... What's your name...? ...And what happened to your ears?”
–Mari Mari first greeting Mike at the City Gate.
“This is our village... I'm Mari! You should see my Dad... He's The Mayor! Maybe he can figure out what happened to your ears!”
–Mari Mari telling Mike where he is.
“Hi, Hero! Where did you find that strange looking Raposa?”
–Mari
“Uh... Human? Is that like a type of Baki? Is he dangerous? He seemed nice... Hero, you should see if my dad can fix his ears!”
–Mari After The Hero says they think Mike is a human.
“I've never seen a grown Raposa without ears! Maybe he got sick of listening to his rapokids! Anyway... You should see my Dad... Maybe he can figure this out!”
–Mari After The Hero asks Mari what happened to Mike's ears.
“Preparations for what? Oh! Rapo! I forgot... He's gonna be so mad... I gotta go!”
–Mari After being reminded by Jowee that The Mayor called a village meeting.
“It's not fair... I can't remember everything! The villagers don't even listen to me!”
–Mari Mari while getting yelled at by her dad.
“Well maybe I'm not cut out to be The Mayor... You should choose someone else!”
–Mari The last words Mari says to her dad.
“What do you want?”
–Mari Mari to The Hero, after arguing with her dad.
“I don't want to see him right now...”
–Mari After The Hero says The Mayor wants to see her.
“That's not surprising...”
–Mari After The Hero tells her that Unagi is causing trouble.
“There is so much out there... and I'm supposed to stay here... Stopping the other villagers from fighting each other... I dunno how my Dad does it... They make me so mad sometimes... Hero... I'm not sure if I want to be Mayor anymore...I really need to think about this more...”
–Mari
“Dad... no...”
–Mari Mari seeing her dad dead on the ground.
“No... not really... What are we gonna do without him... everything is gonna fall apart... All the Raposa are gonna leave...”
–Mari After Jowee asks if she's okay.
“Dad! No... You should have protected him! You're useless, Hero!”
–Mari Upon seeing her dad fade away.
“Creator... why did you take my Dad... I can't do this alone...”
–Mari
“Jowee... wait... I can't do this... But I think together we can! Let's go... Hero, I'll try and calm everyone down here... You need to stop Wilfre and find The Book of Life... We need to hurry before the entire village disappears!”
–Mari
“I'll take care of everything here... Go get Wilfre!”
–Mari Mari right before Wilfre is fought.
“Hero! you did it! ...And you brought back The Book of Life... Let me insert the final page...”
–Mari
“I'm not ready to ask The Creator to sign my name in The Book... But I'll do my best to watch over The Village... Hey... Maybe The Creator can sign his name? ...Just until I'm ready to become Mayor...”
–Mari Before The Creator signs their name in The Book of Life.
“I wonder what everyone is up to...?”
–Mari
“Hey Jowee... aren't you supposed to be watching Heather?”
–Mari
“That sounds like a great idea... Hero, I need to talk to Jowee... alone. When you're done with the villagers, come see us at the secret beach! Let's go!”
–Mari After Jowee says that the villagers probably want to see The Hero.
“I heard you talking to Pirate Beard... ...about leaving the village...”
–Mari
“I think you should go... You always talk about adventure... So you should go... Follow your heart...”
–Mari
“I'd like that... But my place is here in the village... My Dad... Hero... They all believed in me... and you believed in me... I'll never forget that... Don't stay away too long...”
–Mari Mari after Jowee suggests that she join him on his adventure.
“I guess I'll walk you to the dock!”
–Mari Mari walking Jowee to the village dock.
“Be safe, Jowee... Don't forget about us...”
–Mari Mari saying goodbye to Jowee at the dock.

“Circi! The Book of Life, where the Creator drew all creation, is missing! Heather said she saw Crazybarks take it! And she said other stuff is missing, too! Arrgh! As if I didn't already have enough to worry about...”
–Mari
“Now now, Crazybarks has never done anything like this before. He must have a reason. Circi, could you go talk to him?”
–Mari After Circi calls Crazybarks demented.
“Creator, there is so much to do... We're still rebuilding from the damage Wilfre did... I'm not my dad. I'm still learning how to be mayor. Please, Creator... The Book of Life is missing... I... We, the Raposa, need your help once more!”
–Mari
“Thank you, Creator! Thank you for sending HERO to help us!”
–Mari
“Circi, the last person to take the Book of Life was Wilfre. He thought he could draw better than the Creator. But he was wrong. Wilfre's drawings came out as shadow creatures - twisted and evil. Wilfre became corrupted as well. If it weren't for the Creator, the whole village would have been consumed by darkness. My Dad gave his life to save the village and destroy Wilfre. It was his sacrifice that helped restore peace. And when my Dad died, I became the mayor... ...and all was peaceful again in Raposa Village.”
–Mari Mari explaining to Circi why The Book of Life is important.
“As you might have noticed, things have been disappearing all over the village. Weird things. Like the bridge.”
–Mari
“Zsasha was last seen going through the Jangala gate. You should go look for him. Find out if he took our things - or knows who did!”
–Mari
“Zsasha's mask? That's crazy. He always wears that mask.”
–Mari
“That's true, but... I'm beginning to think maybe Zsasha didn't steal those items. You must find him, HERO!”
–Mari After Circi says Zsasha still could've stole the items without his mask on.
“Still haven't found Zsasha, huh? I know the jungle is getting more dangerous, but you can't give up. You and Jowee need to return to the jungle so that we can clear this mystery up!”
–Mari
“HERO, Jowee... You have to find Zsasha. He's the key to solving this whole mystery.”
–Mari
“Welcome, the Creation Hall is where you can view and edit all of the drawings you've made on your adventures.”
–Mari Mari giving the tutorial to Creation Hall.
“Strange. We have a pact with the Monkey King of Jangala. They shouldn't be causing mischief!”
–Mari After finding out that monkeys were the ones stealing Banya
“I'm having Circi re-examine all of the clues you two have found. If Mike were in town, one of his machines could help, but he's gone on business. So until Circi learns something new, let's hope the Monkey King will have some answers.”
–Mari
“Shadow Person? Oh no! Let's lock up that Mask. If what I think is true, we'd better prepare for the worst...”
–Mari After hearing Zsasha say the Monkey King talked about a "shadowy person" trying to steal the Mask.
“I pray you're wrong. Unfortunately, there's only one way to be sure... Yes... We have to return to the Shadow City to find out if WILFRE has returned.”
–Mari
“If that's true, he's probably after the Book of Life. Jowee, you and HERO have to go to Wilfre's Lair to find out what he's planning.”
–Mari
“Please, Jowee. This is really important. Besides, I thought you wanted adventure.”
–Mari Mari convincing Jowee to go to Wilfre's Lair.
“What the Rapo does Wilfre want with all those things anyway?”
–Mari Mari wondering what Wilfre would want with The Crystal Mask, the Eternal Furnace, Branches from the Tree of Ages, and his Pen and Pencil.
“Hmm. I'm not sure. I think we're missing something... Circi, take these items back to City Hall. Do not let anyone else near them! In the meantime, you should go ask Pirate Beard about this Eternal Furnace.”
–Mari
“You know what might help with those slippery slopes? Skates. Perhaps if you found some skates, you could travel over the ice.”
–Mari
“HERO, go talk to Farmer Brown. He knows a lot about the weather.”
–Mari When it starts to snow in Rapoville.
“HERO! Jowee! Mike just got back from his trip. I told him what's been going on in the village and... ...and he turned around and went through the Icy Gates to find the furnace! He said it sounded fascinating!”
–Mari
“Mike! Thank goodness you are ok!”
–Mari After Mike's return from the Icy Gates.
“This means the Tree of Ages is also in grave danger. If Wilfre's shadow creatures were to infest the tree, who knows what could happen!”
–Mari
“Thanks. I couldn't ask for better help.”
–Mari After Jowee says she can count on him and The Hero.
“I would talk to Galileo. He says he can see the Tree of Ages through his telescope.”
–Mari
“The village gets their water from the windmill. If the blades aren't turning, our water supply will dry up! HERO, do you think the Creator could replace the windmill blades?”
–Mari
“Well, the water's back, but now the electricity is acting up! Doesn't anything in this village work right?”
–Mari
“With Wilfre out there, it might not be safe for any Raposa to travel right now. HERO, could you go to Balancing Rock Garden and see if they are all right?”
–Mari Upon finding out DJ and Erika left to find a honeymoon spot.
“Good job finding DJ and Erika but we have bigger problems now. Much bigger.”
–Mari
“What are you two doing back here? Time is running out!”
–Mari
“HERO, thanks to you and Jowee, Wilfre won't be able to carry out his plans! Since most of the Items of Power are locked up at City Hall, WIlfre can't complete his plans to destroy the Creator!”
–Mari
“Circi? Are you in here? Who are you talking to?”
–Mari Mari overhearing Circi talking to herself in City Hall
“I thought something wasn't right! It wasn't Wilfre all along!”
–Mari Mari realizing Circi was the shadowy figure the entire time.
“Thank you, HERO! This should help you!”
–Mari Mari giving The Hero health during the final boss battle.
“What a terrible waste. I can't believe I was fooled by Circi.”
–Mari
“I did? You're right! I did! And now... Oh, Creator! What should we do with the Items of Power?”
–Mari After Jowee comforts Mari, saying she guided the village to safety.
“Thank you, Creator. Now what do WE do?”
–Mari After The Creator casts the Items of Power into the sea.
“First my father and now Circi. Wilfre's evil has taken a lot from me, but I have you to thank that the loss was not greater!”
–Mari

“Jowee!! Wake up! Jowee!!”
–Mari Mari waking up Jowee at the beginnin of the game.
“Jowee, have you seen Heather?”
–Mari
“Hurry, we need to go look for her!”
–Mari
“Heather?! Where are you?!”
–Mari
“Farmer Brown, I am so sorry, I really need to...”
–Mari After Farmer Brown interrupts her search for Heather.
“Calm down everyone. I'm happy to sort out any problems you may have, but right now I really need to...”
–Mari After A bunch of Raposa come to her for assistance. Namely, Pirate Beard, Crazy Barks, and Dr. Cure.
“Everyone, please stop it! We have an emergency! I don't mean to alarm anyone, but Heather is missing. Has anybody seen her today?”
–Mari After even more Raposa ask for her help.
“Come on Jowee. We need to get to The Creation Hall. It's time to call upon the power of The Creator!”
–Mari
“I always keep it close.”
–Mari Upon Jowee asking Mari where The Book of Life is.
“Please Creator, if you can hear us. We are in trouble! Please send us a hero!”
–Mari
“The Hero...”
–Mari After seeing the color being drained from the mannequin in Creation Hall.
“Wait, please don't panic!”
–Mari After everyone runs from a colorless Creation Hall.
“Wilfre... but... how?”
–Mari Upon Wilfre's arrival.
“Don't you regret everything you did? You are a Raposa...”
–Mari Mari to Wilfre.
“How can you say that?! After what you did to my father!”
–Mari After Wilfre says he is this world's savior.
“Creator... how are we going to find Heather without a ship? Or a hero? Please help is!”
–Mari
“I guess we don't have much choice! Come on!”
–Mari Mari commanding everyone to jump on Turtle Rock.
“It's a whole village?! The Creator has answered our prayers!”
–Mari Mari's first reaction to Turtle Rock.
“Hey Jowee! Look at all these books!”
–Mari Mari reacting to the books in Turtle Rock's Creation Hall.
“Jowee... I'm scared... I don't know what to do. Our village, and the other Raposa... they're all gone. Some mayor I turned out to be...”
–Mari
“I'm glad we're together.”
–Mari Mari to Jowee.
“Look Jowee! There is a mannequin over there!”
–Mari Mari finding the mannequin inside Turtle Rock's Creation Hall.
“You're right! If we are going to save the village and the Raposa we need a hero! Please Creator... We need you more than ever. We need The Hero's help once again.”
–Mari
“I don't think The Hero remembers you...”
–Mari After Jowee asks The Hero if they remember him and their last adventure together.
“Give it up!”
–Mari After Jowee continues to ask The Hero if they remember him.
“Hey! Your pocket is glowing!”
–Mari Upon seeing Heather's pendant glow in Jowee's pocket.
“Please Hero, bring back Heather's pendant.”
–Mari When talked to before the Hero finds the pendant in Forgotten Library.
“The pendant must be leading us to where Heather is!”
–Mari After seeing the pendant burn an image into the map for the first time.
“It's so beautiful out here, all alone in an endless blue sea. Who knew it stretched this far...? You remember our secret beach? We used to stare out to the sea... You were obsessed with leaving, and I was obsessed with keeping everyone happy. I'm glad you came back... When I saw that ship sailing off, I thought I had lost the one thing I couldn't live without...”
–Mari Mari talking to Jowee on Turtle Rock.
“Well, we're finally on our own adventure!”
–Mari Mari talking to Jowee on Turtle Rock.
“Honestly.... I know it's exciting... But I'm scared. What if we... the villagers... Wilfre...”
–Mari
“But color is missing from this village as well... Hero, go talk to the villagers and find out what's going on.”
–Mari Upon first entering Watersong.
“Did you say "silly hair?" She must be talking about NavyJ!”
–Mari When Madeleine mentions one of the latest visitors to Watersong having silly hair.
“I have an idea! Hero, do you think we could use this to restore color?”
–Mari When Madeleine shows the bottle of color she found.
“Creator, would you please show us the way?”
–Mari Mari asking The Creator to color the ground in Watersong.
“We don't have time to waste! We need to find the mayor of this village!”
–Mari
“Why not? The Creator drew the lighthouse!”
–Mari Upon Gabriel saying he still can't take the gang to the city.
“That's a Skylamp Gong...”
–Mari After Jowee calls the Skylamp Gong a "Skythingy".
“In any case, we are going to take you home.”
–Mari When meeting Miles for the first time.
“All Raposa make mistakes. We can't all be perfect.”
–Mari Mari comforting Rose.
“Good luck! We will be waiting here...”
–Mari Mari's default quote right before Wilfre is fought.

“Hey Creator… I never wanted to be Mayor. My dad was the best there ever was and I knew I couldn't live up. But the darkness came… I cried out to you for help, and you gave us a Hero. The darkness stole my dad, but our Village stood strong. But then the color faded, and we fled… travelling the world, restoring each island. This time the darkness claimed noble intentions, and we prepared for the end of our world… But the end I thought was coming… Ended up as a new beginning. I know what I need to do. But I fear it's too late. For Mike… and our world.”
–Mari Mari's prayer to the Creator.
“The Book of Imagination... It allows you to enter the mind of another... Extract what's wrong, and overcome the challenge.”
–Mari
“Uh... It looks a bit strange. Nothing like a human.”
–Mari
“Hero! This book will allow you to travel between both realms.”
–Mari
“Don't let this book fall into the wrong hands. It can be a dangerous weapon...”
–Mari
“Go find Mike and convince him to visit us here in Rapoville!”
–Mari
“If you ever need any advice, come visit me at the Town Hall. I'll be waiting.”
–Mari
“No! I was going to tell you... I just... needed some more time.”
–Mari
“More of a battle of wits... Which... well... give it your best shot.”
–Mari
“Jowee... It's a pastry. Get a hold of yourself.”
–Mari
“The watch can keep track of time in both the Human and Raposa realm.”
–Mari
“I need to speak with you, it's important. ...In private.”
–Mari
“It appears human when it's in your realm... Over here, you can see it's true design.”
–Mari
“Just trust me. No other humans can cross into our realm. Not even your sister Heather.”
–Mari
“For some reason, when you were with us... after the accident... You became part of our realm somehow.”
–Mari
“When we defeated him, and restored the village, the Shadow was forced into your realm.”
–Mari
“We didn't know there was another realm either... Not until we met you.”
–Mari
“Hero can build up Imagination Power by helping some of the Raposa out.”
–Mari
“There are a bunch of laz... err... unmotivated Raposa hanging around.”
–Mari
“Wilfre told... Err... I'm pretty sure she wasn't in our realm in the same way Mike was.”
–Mari
“You should do a sweep through the Village. Ask around, maybe try some of the newer Districts.”
–Mari
“Mike! We've been looking everywhere for you... What are you doing here?”
–Mari
“Jowee, I know you're upset and only want to help, but please calm it down a little.”
–Mari
“Mike… I felt the same way when I lost my dad. He meant everything to me…”
–Mari
“It took some time, but I eventually forgave the person who took my dad away from me.”
–Mari
“The Shadow that consumed him was banished there when we sent Mike back home.”
–Mari
“Wilfre scoured the land and found the Book of Imagination.”
–Mari
“Just more proof that I'm not cut out to be Mayor and I can never live up to dad's name.”
–Mari
“Years ago, you asked me to go on an adventure. And I turned you down...”
–Mari
“I'll find out what I'm really called to do. Who I'm supposed to be...”
–Mari
“Aldark is trying to finish what the Shadow started in our realm. We need to go back to Belleview and defeat the last Shadow.”
–Mari
“Thank you, Hero... And, thanks to you too, Creator... You're awesome!”
–Mari
“I know that eventually you'll need to go back home too... But, we'd love to have you stay a while in our village!”
–Mari
“This is my favorite spot in the whole world...”
–Mari
“Somehow, whenever they're around... I feel like everything is gonna be ok.”
–Mari
“Jowee… I... I will. There isn't a greater adventure I'd rather be on... Than this one, with you.”
–Mari
“We need to help Mike!”
–Mari Mari's early game dialogue
“Hero, it means so much that the Creator sent you to help us!”
–Mari Mari's mid-game dialogue
“I hope Mike will be visiting more often now.”
–Mari Mari's late game dialogue
“There was a special flower that used to grow... but I haven't seen it in ages. Can you help?”
–Mari Mari asking the Hero to draw the Large Flower.
