–Bavel, while enthralled by Allight
Migdal Bavel is a Raposa created by GuyThatExists that appears in the short stories Bavel's Diary and Shadow Lives On as a main character, The Lavasteam Chronicles Part Three as a minor character, and Blank Slates and Heather Dating Sim Chapter 2 as a cameo.
Formerly, Bavel was the second Mayor of Rapoville and spearheaded a movement to introduce the Creator to the village. He would go on to create the Warp Gates and utilize the Book of Imagination in such a way that he was the first Raposa to visit the Human realm. However, after excessive use of the Book of Imagination and an encounter with a being known as Amhuluk, he began to lose his mind, eventually devolving into the animalistic Crazy Barks. As Crazy Barks, he would act more like a dog than a Raposa and began sailing with Pirate Beard. Briefly, while being enthralled by Allight, Crazy Barks reverted into Bavel, but this change was reverted when Allight died.
Appearance[edit]
As Bavel, he appears as an orange-furred Raposa with a small, brown beard. He wears glasses, but his typical wardrobe is currently unknown.
As Crazy Barks, his fur is still orange, but his beard has grown bushy and white. He has lost his glasses and has shed his clothes in favor of a leaf loincloth.
Story[edit]
Before Bavel's Diary[edit]
Many years before Bavel's Diary, Migdal Shinar moved into Rapoville from Rapocity with his father - Eugene Shinar, after his colonization of the village. Some time later, Migdal married Peliossa and had a child with her - Tegean. Four years before Bavel's Diary, Eugene passes on the mantle of mayor to his son. Three years later, Eugene Shinar dies.
Bavel's Diary[edit]
One year after his father's death, Migdal Shinar decides to pray to the Creator, the deity of the Raposa who Rapoville was taken from. After hearing back from the Creator, Migdal abandons his father's teaches and name, adopting the name Migdal Bavel. For the next few days, Bavel connects with his family, learning that they had already prayed to the Creator, and they write a letter to Athys Courania, a Rust-Furred Raposa requesting her appearance. A few days later, Athys arrives with the Book of Imagination. The next day, Bavel announces his new beliefs to the villagers, and is met with negative responses. He then travels into the forest with Athys to discover the Book of Life, hidden inside a giant tree.
Throughout the next month, Bavel and Athys, with help from Pheme Mina and Tubbub, begin constructing the World Gates using the power of both magical Books. While these are being built, the Creator also commissions Bavel and Mr. Tubbub to build Creation Hall. After the Beach Gate and Creation Hall are completed, Bavel is given the Book of Imagination to keep, and decides to travel into the Starlite Works to meet with the exiled Liškan Raposa in the Starlite Works. His meeting with them goes well, meeting Mayor Elkanah and Deputy Mayor Hanniel, and he decides to invite them back to Rapoville if they please.
After this meeting, the Creator reveals a secret page in the Book of Imagination, revealing a code to Bavel. Bavel travels to Rapocity and gets help from Anago, a codebreaker. After working on the code on and off for six months, they reveal that the code leads to a new realm - New Market. Bavel is told by the Creator to visit New Market in the Human realm, so Bavel obliges. In New Market, Bavel meets Robert Row, who he lives with for his stay. He also meets with Michael Simmons and George Washington Bush, learning about Human customs and practices. When he returns to the Raposa realm, he takes Robert with him and gives him a tour of the realm.
While touring the Starlite Works, Bavel decides to use the Book of Imagination on Robert, exploring his mind and encountering Amhuluk for the first time. He runs past Amhuluk and escapes Robert's mind. Bavel wishes Robert well in the Human realm, learning that Robert named his son after Bavel. Bavel then beings having obsessions with the Book of Imagination, desperate to use it on the various villagers in Rapoville. He ends up using it on Sandy and Teleal before deciding to use it on Frostwind. However, when Bavel uses the Book, he encounters Amhuluk once more, becoming paralyzed inside Frostwind's mind and in the real world.
During his comatose period, Bavel was taken back to Rapoville and given a blood transfusion from Athys, helping him recover and prolonging his lifespan. When he wakes up, he continues to use the Book of Imagination on the villagers, including Mari Lustro, Maradyn Luna, and Yul Temnice. He then decides to rematch Frostwind for another chance to get to Amhuluk, bringing Yul with him this time. When he encounters Amhuluk again, he is told "many secrets about the world", and when he escapes, he begins to lose his sanity. After a few days of losing his sanity, Bavel adopts the persona of Crazy Barks, completely losing himself.
Between Bavel's Diary and Drawn to Life[edit]
For the next 161 years, Crazy Barks' whereabouts are unknown, but shortly before the events of Drawn to Life, Crazy Barks is kidnapped by Wilfre and trapped at the Surf Beach with two RapoKids.

The Lavasteam Chronicles Part Three[edit]
During The Lavasteam Chronicles Part Three, Crazy Barks joined Pirate Beard and Eeny on their dual voyage to Watersong. However, when they are about to port, Crazy Barks smells a "bright light", shouting to the rest of the crew. The crews prepare to fight, but when Eeny sees his brother, Meeny, he calls off the attack. This allows Allight to enthrall most of the passengers on both ships, including Crazy Barks.
Somehow, while being enthralled, Crazy Barks completely reverted into Migdal Bavel for the first time in over 150 years. He thanks Allight for helping to free him from Amhuluk's influence. However, when Harsonist and Ocean free everyone in Watersong from Allight's influence, he is returned to the Crazy Barks persona. He would go on to fight Allight's army in Lavasteam, specifically fighting the enthralled Key.

Shadow Lives On[edit]
After receiving word to set sail to Wilfre's Wasteland, Crazy Barks and Pirate Beard prepare the Bane of Kings to travel once more, this time with Unagi and Indee coming with them. When Mari and Jowee return with a Hero, Barks attempts to identify the hooded Raposa that came with them, to no avail. When the ship docked, Crazy Barks and Unagi are told to scout out the Galactic Jungle Quarter of the Wasteland.
Once exploring, Crazy Barks smells around the ground while Unagi explores with the Shooter Ship above him. However, Barks identifies the smell of the Ruby Pen in the dirt, leading both him and Unagi into a trap laid by Milfre, who kidnaps the two of them. When Mari and Pirate Beard eventually leave the island to give Milfre the Ruby Earring, Crazy Barks and the other captives are set free and observe Milfre's fight with the revealed Wilfre.
