–Gingerfre
Gingerfre is a Raposa adapted by BreGee and GuyThatExists that appears in the short stories Blank Slates 2 and Blank Slates 3 as a main character. He is best friends with Red Dragon, and he temporarily joins the Tree King's team before leaving to fight against the Shadow Squid and establish the Shadow Village. Two years later, he is annoyed with how Red Dragon and Shadow Mari are telling him to lead the village, so he joins the fight against Tombstone without them. He accidentally revives Tombstone once, but after losing Red Dragon to the monster, he unlocks his own Shadow and uses it to fight Tombstone until he is ejected into canon by Temte Mapleleaf. His current whereabouts are unknown.
Appearance[edit]
Gingerfre is identical in appearance to Wilfre, albeit with a red hoodie and orange fur. In his shadow form, he is covered in grey shadow, has two bulging eyes, and a jagged teeth.
Story[edit]
Early Life[edit]
Some time after being created, Gingerfre, going by Wilfre still, found a set of Shadow Stones and decided to explore Warrior's Castle, where he found Red Dragon. He introduces himself as Wilfre and tells her that she could be a Shadow if she joined him, but she is able to see that he isn't Wilfre. He then decides to name them both Frewil and Flamegale, but Red Dragon chooses the names "Gingerfre" and "Red Dragon" instead. The two of them then leave the castle, living in the Drawn to Life Village.
Blank Slates 2[edit]
Working for the Tree King[edit]
Gingerfre is next seen attacking the Wii Village with Red Dragon and the rest of the Tree King's group. However, Jinxy and Crawler's LARPing Group arrive to stop them, so Gingerfre and Red Dragon decide to escape to the Drawn to Life Village. On their way there, they are spotted by Hoopz and Fox, who shoot them down, knocking Red Dragon unconscious. Gingerfre lands in an alley and picks up a Shadow Stone, but before he can use it, Hoopz also knocks him unconscious.
When Gingerfre wakes up, he is tied to a lamppost, and he is interrogated by Hoopz and Fox, who are seeking information about the explosion in the Wii Village. Red Dragon refuses to speak, but Gingerfre gives them the least amount of information he can, escaping his bounds and picking up a Shadow Stone, which he uses to free Red Dragon, and the two of them escape. However, they turn around to see two new threats chasing after them - beams of Shadow and Color sent by the Jungle Creature, and the Droogle Killer, revived with the sole purpose of killing Red Dragon.
The bosses manage to use the beams to their advantage, forcing them to collide with the Droogle Killer, killing the creation. However, they are once again spotted by a Guardian, and Violet shoots them down from the Two Realms Plains. When they land, Violet interrogates them, so they reveal the Tree King's plans, and say that he only way to stop him is to hope the Guardians and screeners can assemble in time. This causes Violet to leave in hopes of finding the other screeners.
Leading the Shadows[edit]
Eventually, the beams of Shadow and Color land in the Two Realms Plains, forming many of the cut Shadow and Ink creatures that were sealed in the Shadow Hole. Gingerfre notices the Shadow Stone glowing and pulls it out of his pocket, drawing the Shadow and Ink's attention. Red Dragon urges him to use the opportunity to name himself leader of the Shadow, so he does. However, just after his speech, a piece of the Jungle Creature arrives in the plains, absorbing multiple Shadow and Ink creatures, creating the Shadow Squid and reopening the Shadow Hole.
Gingerfre tries to escape, but Red Dragon refuses to leave, so the two take to the sky and begin fighting the Shadow Squid. After being interrogated once again by Willham, they work together to defeat the Shadow Squid, which eventually goes down thanks to the help of Violet and Lambert. After the Shadow Hole is sealed and the absorbed creatures are rescued, Gingerfre and Red Dragon lead the creatures to the location for the Shadow Village, where Gingerfre is made Mayor.
Blank Slates 3[edit]
Taking Charge of the Shadows[edit]
Two years later, Gingerfre is seen in a meeting with Shadow Mari and Red Dragon, who are both grilling him on his leadership. Gingerfre is annoyed, and when Tombstone emerges from the Drawn to Life Village, Gingerfre leaves and rallies the Shadows behind him, leading them into battle against Tombstone. When they arrive at the village, however, Tombstone had already been defeated, but Gingerfre sends his army to fight anyway, and their use of Shadow attacks revitalizes Tombstone.
Red Dragon quickly picks Gingerfre up, stealing his Shadow Stone. However, while in they sky, Tombstone sees them and is able to steal the Shadow Stone for itself, sending both Gingerfre and Red Dragon plummeting. Red is able to pick him back up quickly, but Tombstone retreats into the Drawn to Life Village, encasing it in a bubble, and the two of them head to the Two Realms Plains, where Gingerfre is told to return to the Shadow Village and inform everyone that they needed to either ascend or prepare to fight Tombstone.
When he returns, he gives a half-hearted speech to the Shadows, which is fixed by Red Dragon. Afterwards, she picks him up and flies into the air again, where he tells her that he was just leading the way he would want to be led, and that she would never be a part of the Shadow, upsetting her. She then relinquishes her position as Deputy Mayor, leaving Gingerfre to lead alone. Angry, Gingerfre walks through the streets of the Shadow Village, where he meets Selfishness and Depression, who offer to be his new suit of Shadow just as Tombstone emerges from the Shadow Village.
Losing Red Dragon[edit]
During the fight, Gingerfre flies around Tombstone, trying to attack, but all his attacks are blocked. Abyss tells him that they just needed to know what Tombstone had already absorbed before they could find out how to best attack it, so Gingerfre continues attacking to wear it down. When Lambert joins the fight, he uses his water abilities to help Gingerfre. Eventually, Tombstone is defeated, collapsing into a tidal wave that crashes just outside the village, so Gingerfre heads to the village edge to help clean up.
Once on the edge, he meets up with Jinxy, who compliments his new Shadow friends, though as the Five Aldarks start their plan to revive Tombstone, Depression begins trying to absorb them all and assimilate them into Tombstone's form. Jinxy is able to spot Depression acting, and he tells Gingerfre to call them off, but Gingerfre protests, inadvertently giving Depression enough time to seal Gingerfre, Jinxy, Violet, and Hoopz inside its bubble.
Gingerfre continues to protest, not realizing what Depression was planning, so Jinxy calls Gingerfre "Wilfre", snapping him to reality and getting him back on track. As the bubble shrunk around them, the four of them are able to use their elemental abilities to kill Depression and burst the bubble, creating a shockwave that knocks out all communications in The Void and forces the pieces of Monk out of Mill and Sparky, and Mill's piece of Monk is absorbed by Tombstone, who retreats before it can be attacked any more, bubbling the Shadow Village.
Now sitting inside the Guardians' HQ with the other surviving mayors, Guardians, screeners, and generals. He is silent for most of the meeting, learning about Monk and |the first few years of The Void, but when Sorcerer and Pot run in, telling the group that the villages were still intact under the bubbles, giving Gingerfre hope for finding Red. He offers to explore the village, and Violet and Hoopz both decide to go with him.
When they arrive at the Shadow Village, the three of them walk inside, only to quickly find Lambert and Red Dragon's bodies. As the three of them weep, Tombstone emerges to fight them. The three of them prepare to fight, but Violet and Hoopz' pieces of Monk are forced out of their body, leaving Gingerfre alone to fight Tombstone. He almost falls victim to Tombstone using Red Dragon's body, but he is able to compose himself and start fighting all of Tombstone's new thralls. During the fight, he is able to knock Red Dragon into Lambert, knocking Mizu's Trident out of his hands, stealing it for himself. As he prepares to leave the village, Tombstone calls out to him, using Monk's abilities to melt the entire Shadow Village and absorbing it for itself.
Determined to Kill Tombstone[edit]
Gingerfre makes his way back to the HQ, where he meets up with the group that went to the Drawn to Life Village, and they trade their stories. As the group from the Wii Village returns, they notice that they were led by the Tree King, so the group at the HQ begins fighting the Tree King, eventually killing him. When the rest of the fighters in The Void reconvene at the HQ, including the reincarnated Tree King, they make a plan of attack to fight Tombstone, but Tombstone suddenly summons Red Dragon from the Shadow Village bubble and Drakon from the Drawn to Life Village bubble. Immediately, Gingerfre leaves to go fight Red Dragon's body.
Just outside The Next Chapter Village, Gingerfre, along with Fiora, Stocking, Gargoyle, and Skate begin fighting her with their various abilities. During the fight, he uses the powers of Mizu's Trident to counteract Red Dragon's fire, and when Skate arrives, using her abilities from Monk to transform Red's body, Gingerfre calls her attacks off. However, she doesn't listen, giving Fiora a chance to use her God Rays to remove all traces of Tombstone from Red's body. Gingerfre runs over to her and weeps again. Skate offers to transform her into a weapon for him to use, and he requests a scepter, which Skate makes for him out of Red's body.
Heading back to the main fight against Tombstone, Gingerfre is suddenly struck by visions of Gargoyle in the Color Vat, and he gets memories of someone named Steele dying. When Stocking returns to the fight, Gingerfre stops him and questions him about his abilities. Stocking panics, but Gingerfre assures him that it was okay, apologizing for what happened to Steele, and giving Stocking Mizu's Trident, returning to the main fight.
During the final fight against Tombstone, Gingerfre uses his new scepter in tandem with Fiora's God Rays and Sorcerer's magic to try and attack Tombstone, but it is able to summon the buildings it had absorbed to block their barrage. Eventually, Gingerfre is caught by Tombstone with most of the other fighters, and Tombstone attempts to assimilate him, but Temte Mapleleaf is able to tap into her latent abilities from the Master of the Abyss, teleporting him into canon. His current whereabouts are unknown.

Trivia[edit]
- The Tree King's group could possibly be a reference to Count Bleck's group from Super Paper Mario, with Gingerfre taking the role of O'Chunks.
- Both of them only joined the group because of their own goals, and they both have immense strength.
- In earlier drafts of Blank Slates 3, Gingerfre was meant to be absorbed by Tombstone along with Stocking, and they both would have reconciled inside Tombstone.
- This was scrapped due to GuyThatExists changing how Tombstone's absorption worked and wanting more time to flesh out the characters.
