He was brought to life by Shadow Mari's attack on The Void, and helps fight against the Droogle's coup and Mayo's influence. He would later go on to help reunite the Four Guardians after their deaths. Two years after, he would join Fiora in helping Stocking deal with his visions and would help Fiora chase down a lead on Shadow Mari. He would soon gain God Ray Glasses from Willham, which he uses to fight Tombstone and Goldie before being sent into Belleview by Eric Kozlowsky.
Appearance[edit]
Nolan has brown hair stylized into a buzzcut, brown eyes, and dark skin. He wears a short-sleeved, green shirt with a "Power" symbol on it. He also wears a pair of wireless headphones around his neck.
Story[edit]
Blank Slates[edit]
Relaxing in The Next Chapter Village[edit]
Nolan is first seen when Alana, Fiora, Lambert, and himself are all sitting at a table in The Next Chapter Village. Alana begins to complain about not being able to successfully ascend into the Developer's Grove, and Nolan asks her why she wants to leave The Void since they'd been given life. She responds by complaining about not being relevant to the Drawn to Life Series, leading her to call out Fiora and Lambert for being unused in a game, rather than cut completely, causing Lambert to get mad at her. This causes Mayo to come over and ease tension, and Alana decides to attempt ascension one last time. When Nolan successfully predicts that it would fail, Alana leaves the group in a fuss.
Fiora then decides to take Nolan, Lambert, and Mayo to Hans's seam shop, letting them sit outside while the goes inside. Eventually, the page of The Next Chapter Village beings to turn, causing panic among the beings. Alana, who had returned and was now accompanied by Rocko, Fox, and Jinxy, calls to the group, allowing them to escape the page in the nick of time, but they then notice Crawler and his army approach the group. Before a fight can break out however, Willham sweeps over the group, erasing the village along with Fox, Lambert, Hans, and Crawler's army.
Managing Fiora and Jinxy[edit]
Nolan, as one of the survivors of the attack, gets into an argument with Willham for deleting his best friend, unaware that Alana had ascended during Willham's attack and was still alive. However, Nolan and Jinxy both leave the argument as they notice Fiora walking towards the Shadow Hole. They ask her if she's ok, and she admits that she was coping over losing Lambert, and she gets mad at Nolan for not being more upset that Alana was just killed. However, Nolan reassures her that they could probably bring her back to life again, and Jinxy explains to the two how Shadow Mari populated The Void in the first place. Nolan and Fiora decide that if they were able to throw someone into the Shadow Hole, and then into Lavasteam's color vat, then they would be able to bring them back to life. Jinxy doubts their plan and tells the two that even if it were to work, Willham had deleted The Next Chapter village "like they promised." This phrase sets Nolan and Fiora off and Nolan advises Fiora to just leave Jinxy behind, but Fiora insists that they bring him along as a sacrifice.
As the three of them run towards the Shadow Hole, they notice Drakon kidnap Joe, Franco, and Mildew and decide to stop the dragon. Nolan objects to this, as the three of them don't have any special abilities that would help them fight Drakon. As they watched Drakon fly to the other side of the Shadow Hole, the three realize that they couldn't fight the beast, so while Fiora falls back on sacrificing Jinxy, Nolan tries to get her to calm down. However, before he can do anything an Ink Bomb appears from the hole, scaring Fiora and causing her to push Jinxy into the hole. Thinking the act killed him, Nolan gets mad at Fiora, but soon feels better when he sees Alana riding into battle on the Droogle Killer. As this happens, Willham begins to fly over the Shadow Hole towards Shadow Mari, taking the blame for Lambert's death and aiming to delete Shadow Mari for good.
Fighting at the Shadow Hole[edit]
Just then, Shadow Mari summons a horde of Shadow and Ink monsters from the hole, so Nolan, along with Fiora, Rocko, Crawler, and the Four Guardians team up to fight the monsters off. Eventually, Drakon dives into the Shadow Hole with the Droogle Killer following close behind, allowing Shadow Mari to call of her army; however, this also lets her see Willham speeding towards her. Mayo suddenly screams at Shadow Mari to kill the screener, so she obliges. This raises concerns from everyone still in The Void, including Nolan. However, Mayo screams that the group, more specifically at the Guardians and Willham when reformed, about how she treated poorly for obeying the rules. After her breakdown, she falls to the ground, leaving everyone else to their own devices.
Eventually, Droogles begin to appear in The Void thanks to the Droogle Killer and Jinxy's combined attack on the Dev Grove. After Willham and Shadow Mari erase the Droogle Killer, capture the Droogle Leader, and seal the Shadow Hole, Nolan finds himself talking to Jinxy and Fiora. After Fiora apologized to Jinxy, Nolan noticed a bit of Shadow poking out from under her dress. The Shadow then barked, reveling itself to be a Shadow Dog. Rocko joins their group and the four crack jokes for a while.
Eventually, after Mayo is deleted from The Void and Shadow Mari returns life to everything that Willham had deleted, Nolan is among the group that crowds around Alana who is preparing to join Mildew in Drawn to Life: Two Realms as Aly. He hugs her and tells her to visit The Void whenever she gets a chance. After she ascends, he is among the group laughing as Fiora names her new pet "Sandal."
Self-Awareness[edit]
After hearing Joe make an announcement to Alana, Nolan, along with many other void inhabitants, come running to find her. He is sad to find out that she doesn't remember him, but after her memories are restored, the two spend a brief moment together. He watches as she ascends back into the Dev Grove, and he returns to his daily activities.
Blank Slates 2[edit]
Salem Rose's Attack[edit]
Suddenly, Salem Rose attacks The Void, killing the Four Guardians in the process. Nolan watched on as Salem Rose disappeared and an explosion rung out from the Wii Village. With help from Rocko, Lambert, Fiora, and Sandal, they move the bodies of the Guardians to the Guardians' HQ while everyone else goes to investigate the explosion.
When the group arrives at the HQ, they notice an argument between Mill, a reincarnated Flash possessing Doug's body, and Hans. Rocko investigates the conflict while Nolan and the rest of the group move the bodies inside the HQ. When Rocko, Mill, Hans, and their friends Zak and Mac come inside, Fiora listens as Mill tracks down the other three Guardians and organizes a mission to save them, sending Nolan and Rocko to the Drawn to Life Village to find Ore.
Searching for Ore[edit]
In the Drawn to Life Village, Nolan and Rocko find Hoopz, the reincarnated form of Ore, and Fox chasing after the Droogle Killer. Nolan and Rocko agree to chase the Killer, but when they watch the Droogle Killer die, the four of them instead head towards the Guardians' HQ. When they arrive, they meet Violet, the reincarnated form of Hose. Hoopz checks a terminal inside to track the other Guardians down to the Color Vat so the five of them leave.
When they arrive, they find Mill, Sandal and Sparky, the reincarnated form of Paint, locked in a battle with the Jungle Creature, the Tree King, and Squid, while Fiora and Lambert hide out in an abandoned house near the battlefield. Hoopz and Violet join the fight while Nolan, Rocko, and Fox run into the house.
Vs. Sandal[edit]
After Lambert picks up Mizu's Trident, Nolan watches on as he fights and defeats the monsters. When the Guardians urge Nolan, Fiora, Rocko, and Fox to stay behind while Lambert comes with them, Nolan tells them that she can hold his own in a fight and wants to come with them. The Guardians refuse and leave, telling them to watch over Sandal while he recovers from the fight. However, once the Guardians leave, Sandal begins to convulse, growing larger and more monstrous. Sandal starts attacking the house, so Nolan, Fiora, Fox, and Rocko all run out, but before Rocko can make it, he is crushed and absorbed by Sandal. This causes the rest of the group to start fighting him.
Eventually, Lambert returns and pushes Sandal into the Color Vat, freeing him from the Jungle Creature's influence. Nolan and the group tell him that Rocko was killed in the attack, but he quickly crawls out of the Color Vat and admits that he is having an identity crisis. Lambert leaves, and Nolan helps Not-Rocko and Sandal recover. One week later, Nolan is living with Lambert, Fiora, and Sandal when they are visited by Mill. He asks them how the village is holding up, so they tell him about Rocko's identity crisis.
Blank Slates 3[edit]
Helping Stocking[edit]
Nolan is next seen two years later, when Tombstone erupts from the Drawn to Life Village. After saying goodbye to Repair Guy, Lambert, and Sandal, who had all left to fight Tombstone, Nolan and Fiora meet Stocking, who asks them to help him cure his intrusive visions. Inviting Stocking into their home, Fiora and Nolan listen to his problem, with Nolan validating his concerns. When Stocking explains that he came to them because they had connections, both Nolan and Fiora deny it, but after Stocking points out that they knew all the mayors, they see his point.
However, before they can get any further with Stocking, Shadow Mari knocks on their door, informing the three of them about the loss in the Drawn to Life Village and the order to ascend if you didn't plan to fight Tombstone. Taking a break, Nolan, Fiora, and Stocking go door to door in the village, helping to spread the word before meeting back up at Nolan and Fiora's house. Once inside with just Nolan, Fiora, and Stocking, Fiora begins explaining how she thinks Shadow Mari has ulterior motives, but Stocking and Nolan don't believe her. Before they can probe the conversation any further however, Stocking collapses with more visions, seeing Tombstone erupt from the Shadow Village, so the three of them begin running over.
Talking at the Shadow Village[edit]
When they arrive, coincidentally arriving at the same time as Jinxy, and they meet up with Aly, who had arrived from canon when she heard that the Droogle Killer was killed. While Stocking and Jinxy leave to fight, Nolan, Fiora, and Aly begin catching up on their lives. Eventually, a piece of Tombstone lands next to them, so Stocking appears to move them away from the village. While talking, Aly reveals that she had married Mike and had given birth to a son, but before they can discuss more, Tombstone is defeated and crashes down towards them as a tidal wave. Nolan picks the two of them up and begins running, and Stocking suddenly appears to teleport the three of them back to The Next Chapter Village. Fiora immediatley jumps in, but Nolan and Aly argue about which of the two should jump in first. Nolan believes that she should jump in first for her son, so as the wave closes in on the two of them, Stocking throws his cap towards Nolan, bringing him back instead of Aly.
Grieving with Fiora[edit]
Back home, Nolan, Fiora, and Stocking sit in silence, condemning Aly to death. Fiora, trying to ignore her emotions, jumps back into Stocking's visions, but Nolan cuts her off, yelling at Stocking. Stocking says that he didn't know Aly was Alana, and Nolan gets even angrier at him. However, Fiora diverts back to blaming Shadow Mari, which Nolan doesn't buy, but he indulges her, following her to the Guardians' HQ and leaving Stocking behind.
When they arrive, they are invited in by Willham and Shadow Mari, also reuniting with Sandal. Nolan sits to the side while Fiora questions Shadow Mari, but he helps comfort her when she begins breaking down. After hearing Shadow Mari's full story, Fiora apologizes, and then the four of them begin tracking the Four Guardians using the Compass Array, eventually discovering that the Guardian that Tombstone absorbed was about to be in the Two Realms Plains.
Fighting Tombstone's Armies[edit]
However, before they can leave, Willham and Shadow Mari offer Nolan and Fiora God Ray Artifacts, glasses and an earring, respectively, that give them God Ray abilities to help fight Tombstone. Nolan's glasses accidentally shatter a window after he shoots a beam of rays from them, and he watches as Fiora is engulfed in God Rays, akin to Wilfre. Willham, Shadow Mari, and Fiora then fly over to the Two Realms Plains, leaving Sandal and Nolan to travel on foot. However, Sandal begins running, and due to Nolan being awake for too long, he slowly jogs after them.
When he arrives at the Plains, he is out of breath and lays down for a moment to catch his breath, eventually falling asleep as Tombstone erupts from the ground. Stocking and his new group of fighters arrive just in time, and Stocking uses his cap to send Nolan back home to sleep, leaving a note telling him that they were still fighting, and eventually sending Mew Pod and Crawler to Nolan's house after they were taken out of the battle.
When Nolan wakes up, he greets the two of them and they discuss what their next step should be. Eventually, after Nolan reads the note and Crawler explains his falling out with Rocket Vulture, prompting Nolan to forgive Stocking, they all decide to ascend to the Developer's Grove. However, since none of them have a mantra, they can't, but after Nolan's conversation and after years in The Void, he uses his first sentence to Alana back in Blank Slates as a mantra, successfully ascending to the Grove with the other two just in time to help fight against Goldie's undead Droogle invasion.
While fighting the Droogles in the Grove, he eventually corrals Sandal, who had been pushed into the Shadow Hole by Tombstone, and Mew Pod behind him. Just then, Eric Kozlowsky runs past them with the Stylus, sending both Sandal and Mew Pod to safety, but Nolan decides to stay behind to keep fighting. Eventually, as the Droogles begin overwhelming The Void's refugees, Koz makes a second pass to Nolan, who accepts the offer and is sent to safety, which sends him into Belleview.
Canon Life[edit]
Nolan appears just outside Franco Key's Record Store, entering to meet up with Franco Key. He is soon joined by GenericChallenge and Koz, who informs the four of them that Joseph Tringali shut down the Wishing Well and that there was no way to enter the Grove or The Void anymore. Before the four of them can continue conversing however, Mike and Nolan Row, his and Aly's son, enter the shop, and while Mike speaks with Franco and Koz, Nolan Row introduces himself to Nolan and GenericChallenge.

Trivia[edit]
- Nolan's drink of choice seems to be a mimosa, requesting one in both Blank Slates and Blank Slates 3.
- In earlier drafts of Blank Slates 3, while Fiora accused Shadow Mari of being behind Tombstone's attacks, Nolan would have assumed Gingerfre was behind the attacks, both being wrong.
