Those beams are called God Rays. They repel Shadows and boost the Hero’s attacks, but just like you and me, they ended up here.

Hans

God Rays are a concept adapted by GuyThatExists that appears in the short story Blank Slates 3. They are utilized by Hans during the war against Tombstone to upgrade and create pieces of armor and weapons for the fighters in The Void. When they are all ejected into canon by Temte Mapleleaf or Eric Kozlowsky, their God Ray artifacts go with them.

God Rays are simply beams of light in the Wii Village, though they are a light yellow color.

Book Icon.png Story[edit]

Blank Slates 3[edit]

God Rays are first utilized by Hans right after Tombstone first attacked, adding them to Jinxy's Mask, allowing him to fight with God Rays. He then begins creating suits of God Ray Armor, which he hands out to many fighters during the war against Tombstone. When he sees the Droogle army, Crawler's LARPing Group, and Cecil's Militia, he begins producing more God Ray armor and weapons for the three groups. When he runs out of material to make armor, he begins making God Ray Charms, which are handed out to all the fighters at the final fight against Tombstone.

Hans also makes some weapons and accessories that have God Ray abilities and are used to fight Tombstone. Notably, he makes a God Ray Sword, which is given to Alme Palmette, a set of God Ray Glasses, meant for Willham, and a God Ray Earring, meant for Shadow Mari. The crown on the Tree King's ninth and final body also emits God Rays naturally, which helps kill Tombstone during the final fight.

Trivia[edit]

  • At one point during Blank Slates 3 being written, it was planned to for every fighter in the final battle with Tombstone to have a unique God Ray weapon. This was cut for simplicity of the final act.
