Abyss is a Shadow being created by GuyThatExists that appears in the short story Blank Slates 2 as a minor character and Blank Slates 3 as a supporting character. After being freed by the Tree King, Abyss spoke out against him, causing the Tree King and Jungle Creature to attack the Wii Village. Later, he would lead the Shadow army in The Void against Tombstone, successfully fighting against all but Tombstone's final form. During the fight, Abyss is ejected into Yulshade by Temte Mapleleaf. There he meets Flick, who teaches him about Aldark.

Story

Before Blank Slates 2

Some time after being brought to life by Shadow Mari, they were placed into the Ink Pot in the Wii Village, which acted as a pocket village for the Shadows of The Void.

Blank Slates 2

After being broken out of the Ink Well in the Wii Village, Abyss spoke up against the Tree King, refusing to fight for him. This enraged the Jungle Creature, causing them to fight everyone in the Wii Village at the moment. Abyss presumably fought back during this battle. They would later go on to live in the Shadow Village.

Blank Slates 3

Some years later, Abyss asks Red Dragon for help after Tombstone's attack on the Drawn to Life Village. They tell Red Dragon that Tombstone was no ordinary Shadow creature, but they quickly jumped into action when Tombstone emerged in the Shadow Village, fighting the monster. When Gingerfre starts fighting with Selfishness and Depression, Abyss fills him in on the nature of Tombstone, and they continue fighting. When Shadow Mari and Willham join the fight, Abyss informs them on Tombstone's abilities.

When Tombstone fell to the ground, Abyss jumped off of Red Dragon and began absorbing some of Tombstone's Shadow for itself. However, after the Five Aldarks's plan to revive Tombstone was put into motion, Abyss retreated with Sandal, saving as many Droogles as they could on their way out. Abyss gathered with many of the other fighters in the Guardians' HQ to discuss the casualties at the Shadow Village, future plans of attack and Monk, but after multiple interruptions, Abyss and the others gather outside the HQ. Outside, Abyss and the Shadows joined Crawler's LARPing Group and Cecil's Militia in traveling to the Baki Temple.

After leaving the Temple, Abyss talked with the Droogle Countess, Droogle Leader, and Sorcerer about the Tree King joining Cecil's Militia, and they all agree to fight the Tree King should it be needed. They make good on this promise when they return to the HQ and the Tree King is attacked, killing his current body. After the Tree King is resurrected and more of the fighters ascend into the Developer's Grove, Abyss and the remaining Shadows agrees to join Hans in the Wii Village, offering protection from Tombstone while he works.

In the Wii Village, Abyss and the Shadows immediatley jump into gear fighting the revived Drakon, and they join the Tree King in fighting against it. During the fight against Drakon, Abyss and the Shadows steal the Shadow off of Drakon's tail, and the Tree King kills Drakon. Abyss and the Shadows then return to the edge of the Two Realms Plains, where they continue to fight Tombstone. However, as the fight rages on, Temte Mapleleaf is forced to eject many of the fighters from The Void for their own safety.

Now in the Human realm, Abyss, Sandal, Shadokomo, and the rest of Shadow army appears in Yulshade. They ask where they are aloud, and Flick greets them, introducing them to the village and telling them the story of Aldark and Belleview.

There’s no way to know for sure, especially considering how unstable it is. All we have to go on right now are assumptions.” –Abyss “What do we do now?” –Abyss “Hey, backing up a bit. What smoke are you talking about?” –Abyss “Think of it this way. We know how to kill the Tree King. We’ve done it twice already! If he goes rouge or joins with Tombstone, all we need to do is douse his flames and he dies.” –Abyss “The Shadow Village is gone? Gone forever?” –Abyss “We do. This God Ray stuff might not be good for us, but it’s the best shot we have at saving The Void, so we’ll go with you.” –Abyss “Stay back!” –Abyss “We’re going with him. You three got this?” –Abyss
