Abyssal Rifts are an important object that appear in both Heather Dating Sim and Blank Slates 3. They are cracks in space and time originally created by Temte Mapleleaf that allow their users to travel between alternate universes. They can also be created by releasing a burst of Abyssal Energy in a concentrated location. While not confirmed, it can be assumed that they connect to every known universe in the extended Drawn to Life multiverse.
Appearance
Abyssal Rifts manifest as yellow cracks in space that shatter into holes showcasing other realms.

Before Heather Dating Sim
The first batch of Abyssal Rifts were created after Temte Mapleleaf had deleted The Void under Mayo's influence. Using her mallet, Temte was able to make cracks in space and time - the rifts - and went on her own journey through some realms. After her journey ended, Mayo convinced her to give up her body, transforming the two of them into the Master of the Abyss. The Master continued to create more and more rifts, displacing countless people from countless realities, eventually creating a rift in your bedroom, kickstarting your journey during Heather Dating Sim.
Heather Dating Sim
Throughout Heather Dating Sim, Abyssal Rifts appear to abduct you and take you between realms. Rifts begin appearing more frequently as the Master's plan nears completion, but she closes them all to taunt you when you, Alme Palmette, and Willham confront her. After defeating the Master, The Engineer discovers a way to contain Abyssal Energy and utilize it to create rifts. While helping Temte on her personal quest, they use Abyssal Rifts to pinpoint different universes.
Blank Slates 3
During Blank Slates 3, Q-Heather and Temte use Abyssal Rifts to traverse from Belle's Depot to The Void to help fight Tombstone. After Tombstone's defeat, Temte and Warrior would use a Rift to avoid Temte's past self and begin exploring the multiverse for the other Guardians.
