In the Beach District, Miles meets up with a teenage Madeleine, who explains how potent Color is in the Beach District. Miles decides to start practicing Resonance at the Faraway Beach, using his powers on the sand, bottles, and surfboards. After returning with practiced powers, Miles finds Madeline being held at swordpoint by Captain Cavalier. He explains that Miles took out one of his strong arms, and that he doesn't take kindly to it. He also explains that BakiStache was operating outside of his orders, so there aren't currently plans to punish Watersong. He releases Madeleine and tells Miles to not interfere with his armada any longer, leaving on his ship - The Cyberskull.

Miles decides to keep honing his powers, eventually coming upon the Crimson Manta, and proceeds to hone his new powers on the ship. Later, Miles discovers a pool of color buried underneath the beach and begins to dig it up, but a cannonball is fired at him. In a blink, the avatar slices the cannonball, splitting it in two, with both halves landing on the sides of the color pool. Captain Cavalier walks out from behind a house and asks Miles why he ransacked the Crimson Manta. Miles apologizes, not realizing it was Captain Cavalier's ship, but the Captain rejects the apology.

Silently, Captain Cavalier walks over to the color pool and pours a glowing white liquid into it, causing the ground to shake once more. Miles watches as Huey - a titan of sand and color - grows out of the pool and begins to terrorize the Beach District. Miles immediately jumps into gear, using Resonance to take control of the sandy plates lining Huey and making it destroy itself. After defeating Huey, Captain Cavalier retreats onto The Cyberskull and taunts Miles, telling him to go check on his mother. Madeleine promises to take care of the damages in the Beach District and Miles runs home.

Back home, Miles finds Rose bedridden after the attack and learns that her death had already been accelerated, and that if nothing was done, she would be dead within the season. Rose tells Meeny to not be so dramatic and asks Miles to go find a plant that would help give her more time - the Wavefly. Floating above Ocean Coves, Miles watches as a fleet of pirate ships appears on the horizon, sporting the image of The Cyberskull. Miles decides to do a test dive with Breath Control, discovering a cavern teeming with crystalline life. When he surfaces, Captain Cavalier's armada had surrounded him, and Miles meets First Mate Aguara - Captain Cavalier's right hand man. Aguara asks Miles what he was doing this far out, and Miles refuses to answer. Aguara laughs and sends in a dive team to start searching for the Waveflies. Miles asks why he needs the Waveflies, and Aguara refuses to answer. Miles decides to continue diving, eventually finding a den halfway down.

In the den, Miles discovers a group of bioluminescent Raposa who are hiding from Aguara's divers. Miles assures them that he means no harm, and they bring him to their leader, Sushi. Sushi promises to help Miles reach the Waveflies first if he helps them fight back Aguara's troops, and Miles agrees to their terms. Sushi coats the tip of Miles' spear with a sparking powder, and the two of them leave to fight off the divers. After sending most of them away, Sushi points Miles towards the Wavefly den. Miles navigates to it, only to find that Aguara had beat him there. Aguara taunts Miles and explains that the Waveflies weren't just a cure for illnesses, but rather they enhance the powers and abilities of those who consume them.

Aguara smirks and shoves a handful of Waveflies into his mouth, shocking Miles and scaring the remaining divers out of the den. Aguara begins to mutate into a massive Raposa, towering above Miles and the Avatar. Aguara's speech begins to turn into grunts and snarls, so Miles prepares to fight. The Mutated Aguara attacks, and the two of them fight, with Miles flooding the room at points to slow Aguara down enough to be hit. Eventually, Miles delivers a fatal blow with the poisoned spear, killing Aguara. Looking around for a Wavefly to pick, Miles finds that all of the flowers had been drowned during the fight. He panics for a moment, but then notices the glowing pool of water around a group of flowers, so he collects the water and returns to the surface.

However, when Miles surfaces, he finds Captain Cavalier waiting for him. Captain Cavalier asks what happened to Aguara, and when Miles reveals that Aguara was dead, the Captain becomes enraged. Captain Cavalier then declares war on Watersong and tells Miles that he has five days to prepare his army. Miles tells the Captain that he couldn't gather an army, and that his declaration of war would have to go to the Mayor. Captain Cavalier starts to laugh, and when Miles asks what was so funny, the Captain tells Miles that Rose had died, and that Miles was now the mayor. Suddenly, the plants begin to rapidly grow, forcing the three Raposa to evacuate the mansion. They are met by Fiora, Alphonse, and Madeleine, who all offer their condolences, but Miles is too heartbroken to respond. However, as his friends try to get ahold of him, he hears a singing voice echoing through the village, calling him to find the Great Cane. Miles asks if any of them knew what the Great Cane was, and Butler explains that the Great Cane is the original source of the Power of Song, and that he knows where to find it. Miles decides to bring Meeny and Butler along for the journey, and they leave Miles' friends in charge of the village while they were out.

Once the three of them arrive at the Forest of Hymns, Meeny asks Miles if he knew what his new power was yet. Miles tells him that he doesn't, but suddenly hears the same singing voice from earlier calling him to "Come to the Great Cane". As the three of them make it through the forest, they find that the path changes every day, limiting their progress until they can find a way around the blockades. Eventually, they find themselves at the Great Cane, a massive tree sprawling over the Forest of Hymns. Miles hears the endless singing of the tree, along with the songs of the other plants in the area, and learns that Butler and Meeny could not hear them at all.

Miles deciphers that the signing voice was coming from the Great Cane itself, so he asks why the tree wanted to see them. The tree reveals that Miles' new power was called Vertical Alignment, and that he could hear the voices of the plants. The Great Cane then asks why Miles decided to seek it out, and Miles explains what happened in the Courtyard Garden. Miles ends his story by asking what he should do to get the rest of the Power of Song, and the Great Cane responds by singing a song urging Miles to return home and spend some final moments with Rose to prove he is ready to take her place. Miles thanks the Great Cane and the three begin to leave, but when they begin their trek home, they find The Cyberskull floating in the sky above them.

From the ship, Captain Cavalier calls out to Miles, telling him that his time was up. Miles, realizing that it had already been five days, briefly explained to Butler and Meeny what had occurred with Captain Cavalier's crew. The two grew upset with Miles, but put their anger aside when a team of pirates deployed from the ship, surrounding the group. Miles began to fight them off but notices The Cyberskull's figurehead charging up an attack. The three Raposa continue to fight the pirates when a beam fires from the ship, striking the Great Cane and dissolving it into pure energy, causing the entire island of Watersong to shake. Miles hears all the singing and music suddenly fall silent, and the pirates stop fighting, watching as the energy flows up into the ship, where Captain Cavalier harnesses it.

Captain Cavalier starts to make a speech to the pirates, stating that the Power of Song would no longer be restricted to the royal family, and that a new era of song was arriving. As Captain Cavalier presents the energy to the pirates, Miles sees them each pull out a petal from a Wavefly, eating them as Captain Cavalier let the energy flow into him. After defeating the group, Miles watches as Captain Cavalier and De Miniter fly off towards the Rooftop District. Asking Butler if he could have always done that, Miles attempts to fly and realizes that he could. He grabs Butler and Meeny, and the three of them chase after Captain Cavalier, seeing the entirety of Watersong begin to splinter beneath them. ===Realm of Song===
Entering the portal, Miles finds himself in the Realm of Song, a world created by the remainder of Rose's Power of Song. Miles chases Captain Cavalier through the Realm, running through fields of overgrown plants and tangible music. Unfortunately for Miles, Captain Cavalier reaches the remainder of Power first, waiting for Miles to appear to absorb it. The Captain starts to give Miles a mocking speech, but as he absorbs the power, he finds it hard to speak. Suddenly, Captain Cavalier's body begins to glow a bright yellow, much like the Power, and his body disintegrates, leaving only De Miniter behind. Silently, De Miniter absorbs the energy and faces Miles, prompting a final showdown between Avatars.

During the fight, De Miniter is able to use all of Miles' powers, including one Miles had not learned yet, Dissonance, an ability that can destabilize the Avatar for a period of time, forcing Miles to attack on his own with the spear. Also during the fight, the Realm of Song begins to crumble around the two of them. Miles barely defeats De Miniter's first phase, but after being knocked down, De Miniter rises back up and starts to commune with the plants, turning them against Miles. Miles realizes that he is not strong enough to overpower De Miniter, but looking down, he notices a sinlge Wavefly growing among the flora. Miles closes his eyes and says a pre-emptive goodbye to Butler, Meeny, and his friends. Miles plucks and swallows the full flower, growing larger and powering up his Avatar.

Miles realizes that he is not strong enough to overpower De Miniter, but looking down, he notices a single Wavefly growing among the flora. Miles closes his eyes and says a pre-emptive goodbye to Butler, Meeny, and his friends. Miles plucks and swallows the full flower, growing larger and powering up his Avatar.

In the second phase, the Courtyard Garden slowly comes into view, and Miles and the Avatar eventually take the upper hand, defeating De Miniter. Before De Miniter is destroyed however, the Avatar speaks to it, talking for the first time. The Avatar asks why De Miniter continued to fight after Captain Cavalier was killed, and De Miniter admits that it didn't know anything more and just wanted to hold onto the Captain's desires. After revealing this, the Power of Song is pulled out of De Miniter, destroying the Captain's Avatar for good and transferring the full Power of Song to Miles, cancelling out the negative, more animalistic effects of the Wavefly. Miles celebrates with the Avatar and the two of them leave the Realm of Song.

–505Games Description

Drawn to Life: Bonus Track is a sequel to Drawn to Life: The Next Chapter, developed by C's Entertainment and Digital Continue, and published by 505 Games. It is the 5th canon game in the Drawn to Life Series and the 9th Drawn to Life game overall.

The game is available in English, French, Italian, German, Spanish (Spain), Japanese, Korean, Portuguese (Brazil), Russian, and Simplified and Traditional Chinese.

AButton.png Gameplay[edit]

Drawn to Life: Bonus Track takes us down a new path, with gameplay inspired by the original Drawn to Life, but with some new twists revolving around music. Instead of playing a Hero, you control an Avatar, a musical embodiment of Miles's emotions. The gameplay is divided into two modes.

Village Mode[edit]

Like the original Drawn to Life, you are able to explore one top-down hub area where the player progresses the story, interacts with the Raposa, purchases items from the various item shops, and also accesses levels. Players can provide music at the Raposa's request to enrich their village. Over the course of the game in village mode, the player will play some mini-games, search for lost items, and help the Raposa of the village thrive in the face of change. Here players are given their objective for the next Adventure Mode level.

Adventure Mode[edit]

A side-scrolling platformer, laid out into a number of unique levels. Adventure Mode is where the majority of gameplay is done. Here the player battles enemies, discovers new musical artifacts, and collects rare items. Players can use their voice and musical gifts to allow Miles and the Avatar to progress through the level and reach the goal. Bosses are also battled through this mode. There are five different districts to traverse: the Rooftop District, the Beach District, the Ocean Coves, the Forest of Hymns, and the Realm of Song, each with their own boss. There is also a secret, post-game world called Rose's Archives that also has a boss.

In this game, Adventure Mode also introduces a new gimmick - the Power of Song. Throughout the game, the player will gain more of Rose's powers, including, but not limited to, Resonance, Breath Control, and Vertical Alignment. These three powers act as the basis for smaller powers that appear throughout the levels, with Resonance allowing Miles to move inanimate objects, Breath Control allowing him to breathe underwater, and Vertical Alignment allowing him to commune with plants through song.

Book Icon.png Story[edit]

Rooftop District[edit]

The game begins with Miles, now a teenager, running through the Rooftop District in Watersong, darting through Raposa Statues and Sheepdogs. He is joined by Alphonse and Fiora, and the three of them make it back to Rose's Mansion unscathed. Outside the mansion, Butler calls for Miles and leads him inside. In Rose's Study, Miles finds Rose and Meeny, her husband, sitting at the table with bad news: Rose is ill. Rose explains that the premature transfer of the Power of Song started to kill her body, and regaining that power merely slowed the process down. She was starting to near the end of her life, and estimated that she only had a year left to live.

Rose then asks Miles if he had felt any changes in his body recently, freaking Miles out, but she calms him down, explaining that he might start getting some of her abilities. She tells him that he should expect to meet an Avatar soon, and just then, it appears to Miles. Rose explains that the Avatar, customized and named by the player, is an extension of Miles and would protect him from physical harm. Rose then requests that Butler and Meeny take her outside the mansion to help train Miles. Outside the mansion, Miles is tasked with exploring parts of the Rooftop District to gain control of the Avatar.

After conquering a few challenge courses and levels, Miles decides to detour into an underwater cove, where he finds Alphonse and Fiora trying to climb a steep cliff. However, when they make it to the top and find nothing, they hear someone crash into the cove. Fiora begins to climb down and swim out, but is captured by BakiStache. Miles and Alphonse chase after her, and Alphonse is captured by another Baki. Miles then has to use the Avatar to take out the Baki army and BakiStache, killing the pirate.

Miles, Alphonse, and Fiora return to the surface, and Miles makes it back into the mansion, finding Rose injured. He asks what happened and learns that the the current holder of the Power of Song is directly tied to the fate of the village. Rose explains that if the village is damaged any more, her death would accelerate, so Miles vows to protect the village as long as he can. This promise also marks more of the Power of Song transferring to Miles, this time giving him Resonance - the ability to control specific inanimate objects. Rose requests that he hone this skill in the Beach District, so he travels to the other edge of the village.

Beach District[edit]

Miles asks Madeline if she's okay, and she says that she was, telling Miles that she gets used to it living near the Faraway Beach and to disregard his threat.

Miles asks how many to bring, and Rose explains that they only grow in the deepest parts of the ocean, so to only bring one. Miles agrees and promises to be back soon, and his promise grants him another power, Breath Control, allowing him to breathe underwater. Miles prepares to set out, and Meeny meets him in the ruins of the Beach District, giving him a spear for self defense. Miles hugs his adoptive father and gets on a raft to go out to sea.

Ocean Coves[edit]

Miles refuses to believe him, but suddenly feels a familiar sensation; he had gained a new power.

In a panic, Miles returns to the mansion, where he finds Butler and Meeny mourning over Rose's body in the Courtyard Garden. Butler explains that she wished to see the flowers as she passed, but Miles refuses to hear it, taking out his bottle of Wavefly water and trying to pour it into her mouth. However, nothing happens, and Butler explains that the plant had no effect on the deceased. Miles continues to pour the water however, accidentally pouring it onto the plants beneath Rose, mutating them into large, monster plants. As the garden flourishes, Butler, Meeny, and Miles watch as the last piece of the Power of Song leaves Rose's body and hovers in the air. Miles watches as it flies around the garden, eventually settling into a large rose in the center of the garden.

Forest of Hymns[edit]

Miles watches as the pirates grow slightly larger from the micro dose and return to the ship, where Captain Cavalier developer an Avatar of his own - De Miniter. Captain Cavalier, now having all of Miles' powers, uses Resonance to fly his ship down to the clearing where the Great Cane once was, and Miles must fight it and the Wavefly Pirate off.

Miles drops Butler and Meeny off with Fiora, Alphonse, and Madeleine, and flies into the Garden, watching as the Captain disappeared into a portal that had opened up. Miles looks around the garden for his mother, but can't find her body anywhere, so he resolves to enter the portal and chase down Captain Cavalier and De Miniter.

Realm of Song[edit]

Outside the realm, Miles sees that the Courtyard Garden had been returned to its normal state, and his friends and family had rushed in to see him. Miles tells him that he had obtained the full Power of Song, and the group celebrates. The group leads Miles outside, where he sees the village in shambles. However, an optimistic Miles floats into the air and begins to sing a vocal track, using his powers to repair the village's districts, including restoring the Great Cane.

Rose's Archive[edit]

Sometime later, Miles is in Rose's Study, spending some last moments with Rose in spirit. During these moments, Miles stumbles upon an old box of recordings and begins to listen to them, starting with Light of My Life. After listening to all the recordings, Miles finds that a secret passage had opened up in the Study, revealing Rose's Archive, where Miles and the Avatar train through more intense versions of former levels and Rose's memories, culminating in a battle against Bizot's Avatar, the Avatar of Rose's Grandfather.

Trivia[edit]
