Mantras are a way of leaving The Void and entering the Developer's Grove only available to its residents. They are a line of dialogue that was attributed to the removed or unused character, though some characters, such as GenericChallenge, have been known to use mantras belonging to canon characters to appear as that character after escaping the Grove. They were first used by Alana in Blank Slates.
Mantras were originally used by characters who were chosen to be in the games, as Mildew used his mantra after being voted into Drawn to Life: Two Realms. However, the first intentional use of a mantra was by Alana slightly before and during Mayo's campaign against The Void. After learning about them, most of The Void would adopt a mantra, though many residents could not use one due to not having any dialogue of their own. Eventually, Nolan was able to create his own mantra, despite not having any canon dialogue, due to how long he had existed in The Void.

Trivia[edit]
- According to Joseph Tringali, the Droogles were originally hired to prevent Alana from ascending using her mantra.
- Both Willham and Shadow Mari have mantras, as they use them to ascend to the Developer's Grove to fight Salem Rose. However, their mantras are currently unknown.
- During Tombstone's attacks, the majority of The Void was evacuated using mantras, with many residents making multiple trips to evacuate those without mantras.
- Those without mantras could ascend by maintaining physical contact with someone who does while they ascend.
- GenericChallenge presumably abused Generic Raposa Characters' mantras to complete Project Overhaul in-universe.
