“I’m Lambert! You and I used to get into fights all the time, it was great!”

Lambert is a Raposa adapted by GuyThatExists that appears in the short stories Blank Slates and Blank Slates 3 as a supporting character, Blank Slates 2 as a major character, and in the one-shot Self-Awareness as a minor character.

He was brought to life by Shadow Mari's attack on The Void, but was subsequently erased during Willham's attack on The Next Chapter Village. He later comes into possession of Mizu's Trident and joins the Four Guardians, becoming a key factor in the defeat of the Tree King and Jungle Creature. He would join the fight against Tombstone, though he was eventually absorbed and killed by Tombstone during a fight in the Shadow Village.

Appearance

Lambert is an orange furred Raposa that wears a green cap and teal pants. He wears what seems to be a tan vest with suspenders and a white undershirt. While using Mizu's Trident, his clothes become blue, and the tips of his fur becoming a light blue.

Story

Blank Slates

Lambert is first seen when Alana, Nolan, Fiora, and himself are all sitting at a table in The Next Chapter Village. Alana begins to complain about not being able to successfully ascend into the Developer's Grove, and eventually complains about not being relevant to the Drawn to Life Series. She calls out Fiora and Lambert for being unused in a game, rather than cut completely, and he gets mad at her, causing Mayo to come over and ease tension. Alana eventually leaves the group in a fuss, causing Fiora to take Lambert, Nolan, and Mayo to Hans's seam shop, letting them sit outside while the goes inside. Eventually, the page of The Next Chapter Village beings to turn, causing panic among the beings. As the group escapes the page in the nick of time, they notice Crawler and his army approach the group. Before a fight can break out however, Willham sweeps over the group, erasing the village along with Lambert.

Eventually, Shadow Mari sends beams of Shadow through The Void again, bringing Lambert back to life. Lambert joins the rest of the beings of The Void as they wish Alana, now known as Aly, luck in the next game. He is also part of the group that laughs when Fiora names Sandal, her new pet.

Self-Awareness

When Aly returns to The Void without her memories, Lambert is one of the first people she meets. Lambert explains how he and Alana would get into fights, and he watches as Alana has her memories restored. The two spend a brief moment together, and he watches as she ascends back into the Dev Grove, returning to his daily activities.

Blank Slates 2

Suddenly, Salem Rose attacks The Void, killing the Four Guardians in the process. Lambert watched on as Salem Rose disappeared and an explosion rung out from the Wii Village. With help from Rocko, Nolan, Fiora, and Sandal, they move the bodies of the Guardians to the Guardians' HQ while everyone else goes to investigate the explosion.

When the group arrives at the HQ, they notice an argument between Mill, a reincarnated Flash possessing Doug's body, and Hans. Rocko investigates the conflict while Lambert and the rest of the group move the bodies inside the HQ. When Rocko, Mill, Hans, and their friends Zak and Mac come inside, Lambert listens as Mill tracks down the other three Guardians and organizes a mission to save them. Lambert, Fiora, Sandal, and Mill all begin their search for Paint.

The group tracks Paint down to the Color Vat, finding him reincarnated as Sparky, and locked in a battle with the Jungle Creature, the Tree King, and Squid. Mill and Sandal join the fight while Lambert and Fiora hide out in an abandoned house near the battlefield. They are later joined by Rocko, Nolan, and Fox when Hoopz and Violet, the other two reincarnated Guardians, join the fight.

During the battle, after Squid's defeat, Mizu's Trident, which had been resting in Squid's stomach, was launched into the abandoned house. Curious, Lambert picked it up and was suddenly engulfed in a bright light, giving him water-based abilities while he wielded the trident. He left the house and helped take down the Tree King and Jungle Creature, but he was disarmed during the battle, returning to the house as the rest of the Guardians fought. After the battle, he retrieves the trident and leaves to go fight with the other Guardians.

He and the other Guardians arrive in the Two Realms Plains just in time to fight the Shadow Squid. While everyone else attacks the monster, Lambert decides to throw the trident into its stomach. He then asks Violet to accelerate and fly through the Shadow Squid, piercing its skin. She obliges, and after enough damage, Lambert runs underneath the Squid, calling the trident back to him, killing the Shadow Squid. The group then decides to return to the Wii Village to kill the reincarnated Tree King.

On the way to the village, Lambert spots a corrupted version of Sandal attacking his friends at the Color Vat, so he takes a detour to stop Sandal. He pushed Sandal into the Color Vat, freeing him from the Jungle Creature's influence. He leaves as Rocko, who had been absorbed by Sandal, starts having an identity crisis. Lambert arrives at the Wii Village, where he helps fight the Tree King, extinguishing the flames one at a time, but not quick enough to kill him. He asks Willham and Mill for help extinguishing the three flames, killing the Tree King.

One week later, Lambert is living with Nolan, Fiora, and Sandal when they are visited by Mill. He asks Lambert how the village is holding up, so Lambert tells him about Rocko's identity crisis.

Blank Slates 3

Lambert is next seen in The Next Chapter Village with Repair Guy sitting on the edge of the Color Vat. Lambert asks how life as Repair Guy has been, now that he knows he isn't Rocko, and Repair Guy admits that he still misses his daughter, despite never having seen her in The Void. Lambert then promises that by the end of the week, he would reunite Repair Guy with his daughter. Repair Guy is skeptical, but Lambert assures him that they could find her in the week.

However, just then, Sandal runs out of his house and Fiora shouts at him to stop Sandal. Lambert summons Mizu's Trident to him and points it at Sandal, stopping him in his tracks. Lambert tells Fiora that she needs to watch Sandal better, but just then, the ground begins to shake, and Lambert watches as Tombstone emerges from the Drawn to Life Village. Lambert then gets a text from the Droogle Leader, informing him that the monster was the final piece of the Jungle Creature. Lambert then takes Sandal and Repair Guy, and the four of them head towards the Village to fight Tombstone.

When they make it to the Village, they meet Heathers, who fills them in on the fight so far. The four of them watch the Droogle Killer be defeated and absorbed by Tombstone, so Lambert, Repair Guy, and Sandal run in to fight it. As they make their way through the village, they meet up with Fox, and the four of them fight Tombstone. Lambert envelops himself in a water bubble and floats to meet Tombstone's gaze, taunting the monster, and attacking it just as it had attacked Shadow Squid previously. With the efforts of the LARPing Group, Lambert is able to defeat Tombstone.

As everyone gathers outside the village, Lambert meets back up with Violet and the Droogle Leader, wondering where the rest of the Guardians were. They are joined by Sorcerer, who tells them that since Tombstone was composed of hundreds of dead bodies, unless each of them were cleansed of Shadow, Tombstone wouldn't be truly defeated. Sorcerer leaves to work with Apprentice, leaving Lambert and Violet to meet up with Shadow Mari and Red Dragon.

After Violet calls Mill and the rest of the Guardians arrive in The Void, Lambert reunites with Aly, who is excited to see him. However, before they can do anything to truly defeat Tombstone, Gingerfre arrives with his Shadow army and accidentally revives Tombstone, allowing it to take the Drawn to Life Village for itself. After watching this happen, Lambert, alongside the rest of the fighters and Drawn to Life villagers, escape to the Two Realms Plains.

In the Plains, Lambert and Aly continue their reunion, with Aly explaining that she had lived 30 years in canon while only a few years passed in The Void, and Lambert explaining that he was a member of the Four Guardians now and explaining the existence of the Plains and the Shadow Village. However, as Lambert is explaining the Shadow Village, the ground begins to shake again, and Tombstone begins attacking the Shadow Village, prompting Lambert, Sandal, and Aly to head over to fight with the other Guardians.

When they arrive outside the village, they meet with Shadow Mari, who sends the Guardians in to fight Tombstone and leaving Lambert with Aly and Sandal, making sure they would be okay. As the three of them plan, Lambert plans to attack Tombstone's eye to distract it enough for Sandal to steal some of its Shadow. Lambert and Sandal mobilize into the fight, and as it rages on, Lambert is joined by Willham in attacking Tombstone's eyes. During the fight, the other Guardians trade places with Lambert, and Lambert joins Gingerfre, Selfishness, and Depression in attacking Tombstone.

After Tombstone is defeated and collapses into a tidal wave, Lambert is sent into the heart of the village to help recover the deceased Droogles that Tombstone used for its body. As he helps move bodies, he is joined by Red Dragon, and the two of them begin to plan for the next few days of clean up. However, they are both suddenly grabbed by Shadow tendrils and pulled to the ground in an alley. Stuck, they are forced to watch the Five Aldarks enact their plan to help Tombstone, sacrificing themselves, alongside various other Shadows and Droogles, to revive the monster.

Unable to reach his trident on his back, and unable to summon it, as it was already technically summoned, Lambert and Red try to think of any way to not be sacrificed for Tombstone. Red Dragon has the idea to use a mantra to ascend into the Developer's Grove, deciding to use the line "We wantsss to help you… Free you from your shacklesss…", belonging to the Shadow. As they recite the mantra, they don't ascend, but do notice some of Tombstone's Shadow ascending because of them. As the Shadow creeps closer to them, Lambert realizes that they have no way to escape, and he tells Red Dragon as much. Agreeing, the two of them close their eyes and embrace their final moments at the hands of Tombstone, being absorbed and killed.

Postmortem

Now a thrall of Tombstone, Lambert is not seen again until Violet, Hoopz, and Gingerfre explore the bubbled Shadow Village. After they discover the bodies of Lambert and Red Dragon, Tombstone reanimated his body to attack the three of them. After Violet and Hoopz are ejected from their bodies and Gingerfre is left alone in the village, Tombstone attacks with Lambert, blasting forward with murky water. Gingerfre dodges out of the way, and Lambert pops Depression's bubble. Lambert then creates a whirlpool in the village, trapping Gingerfre inside. Red Dragon's body is used to shield Lambert from Gingerfre, but Gingerfre tackles Red Dragon, dismantling the whirlpool. This also gives Gingerfre a chance to steal Mizu's Trident, and he leaves with it.

Lambert is next used by Tombstone before the fight in the Two Realms Plains. Tombstone throws Lambert's body out of the Shadow Hole, now appearing uncorrupted thanks to Monk's abilities. Fiora quickly runs up to his body, but Sandal is able to smell the Shadow inside him and alerts the others. Fiora is reluctant to accept that he was still corrupted, and Tombstone swipes Sandal into the Shadow Hole using Lambert before Tombstone appears proper, absorbing Lambert back into its body.

When Tombstone is defeated, it can be assumed that his body is left in The Void when Temte Mapleleaf destroys it, destroying his body for good.

Suddenly, all the powers go away, and I came back here.” –Lambert “How should I know? I only became a Guardian like, five minutes ago!” –Lambert “Mill! Violet! Keep piercing it!” –Lambert “You wanna help me speed this up then?” –Lambert “I’m sorry guys, but I can’t come with you.” –Lambert “He shouldn’t be, but he’ll be completely worn out after that fight. Give him a lot of rest back home.” –Lambert “Hey, where’s Rocko?” –Lambert “He’s dead? Like, actually dead?” –Lambert “Well hey, let’s get you home. They let me keep this sick trident and join their ranks. So, what’s your plan?” –Lambert “If I go attack the eye, then it’ll be distracted enough for Sandal to steal from its legs. I guess we can bring everyone back from the Grove once this puddle’s gone.” –Lambert “Hey Red, you seein’ this?” –Lambert “Red, can you grab my trident?” –Lambert “It’s too close to me – it’s basically already summoned. Trivia

• The names of both Lambert and Fiora are purely conjectural, being created by Spriter's Resource submitter nya. No reference to the names "Lambert" or "Fiora" are known to exist in the code of Drawn to Life: The Next Chapter.
• Lambert's line, "This trident is something else," is a reference to one of Spider-Man's lines from Spider-Man 3.
• In an earlier draft of Blank Slates 3, when Sandal would become corrupted and act as a minor antagonist, Lambert would have been one of the main characters fighting Sandal.
