–Willham
Willham, sometimes spelled Wilham and Wilhem, is a Screener created by GuyThatExists that appears in the short stories Blank Slates, Salem Rose Pt. 2, Blank Slates 2, and Blank Slates 3 as a main character, Salem Rose Pt. 1 as a minor character, and the one-shots Self-Awareness and Heather Dating Sim Prelude as a main character. He also appears in Heather Dating Sim Chapter 3 and Chapter 6 as a supporting character.
He is one of two screeners, the other being Shadow Mari. He was originally against the population of The Void and worked to delete them all, but he eventually had a change of heart. He was visited by Miles and Milfre during their conflict and was one of the many people to help defeat Salem Rose. He later worked to apprehend GenericChallenge and find Jeremiah Slaczka. He was also a major player in the game to stop the Master of the Abyss from destroying the Drawn to Life universes. During Tombstone's attacks, Willham worked with the Four Guardians to defeat the monster, and he egged on Temte Mapleleaf to unleash the Master of the Abyss onto Tombstone. After Tombstone is defeated, Willham loses track of Temte and meets her past self, giving his powers away to her, killing him for good.
 Appearance[edit]
 Appearance[edit]
As a screener, Willham is a blue mist that can change his form at will. He also has one physical accessory, being a pair of glasses, that can also be dissolved or changed at will.
 Story[edit]
 Story[edit]
Creation[edit]
Willham was created alongside Mayo and Monk by Joseph Tringali after the release of Drawn to Life to help regulate the cut content from that game, living in the Developer's Grove. Eventually, when the dual sequels were being developed, Willham, Mayo, and Monk - who was now the Four Guardians - are moved into The Void to help regulate the massive amounts of cut content. When The Void is shut down after the release of the two games, Willham is essentially unconscious until the development of Drawn to Life: Two Realms. Alive once more, he continues working with Mayo and the Four Guardians.
Blank Slates[edit]
Shadow Mari's Attack[edit]
Willham is next seen at the Discussion Grounds with his fellow screener Mayo, helping the Four Guardians decide on who to send up to the Developer's Grove. Eager to send someone up and be done with the discussion, the Guardians and Willham agree to send Mildew to the Grove. After making the decision, Shadow Mari attacks the Discussion Grounds and sends a beam of Shadow through Willham, killing him.
Erasing the Villages[edit]
Eventually, Willham reforms himself and watches as the Wii Village begins to form. He decides to erase the village and those in it, including Rocko, Fox, and Jinxy. He succeeds in erasing the village, but fails to erase the three characters. After threatening to erase them, Rocko convinces him to keep them alive, as they can lead him to Shadow Mari so that he can get his revenge against her. Rocko says that they need to make a pit stop at The Next Chapter Village to find Fiora and Lambert.
When they get to The Next Chapter Village, Willham begins to dissolve the village, and after getting in another argument with the characters, he leaves them. Eventually, he charges at the village and erases it, along with Fox, Lambert, Hans, Rocket Vulture, and Rata, Tat & Tat. This prompts and argument between all the survivors of the attack in the area, ending with the group splintering off. After fighting with Mayo and Crawler, the three of them, along with Rocko, decide to fly to the Shadow Hole to fight Shadow Mari.
Fixing his Mistakes[edit]
On the way there, Flash stops them and begs them to help fight Dinofrog. Willham agrees to help fight and creates a cloud of blue smoke around the beast, erasing it. The group pushes on, and when they arrive at the Shadow Hole, Willham apologizes to the characters for erasing their friends and begins to fly to the other side of the Hole, with Mayo flying after him. When Drakon flies into the Shadow Hole and Shadow Mari calls off the army, Mayo tells Shadow Mari to kill Willham once more, and she obliges.
When he reforms, he was met by Mayo's breakdown. When she notices him, she began to yell about how she changed The Void for him. When Mayo floats back to the ground and begins to sob, Willham pulls Shadow Mari aside and asks her about what happened. Eventually, the two of them come to an understanding, and when the Droogle army appears in The Void, Willham and Shadow Mari work together to silence them. Willham asks for the Droogle Leader, and in tandem with Shadow Mari, grabbed him and dove into the Shadow Hole, sealing it.
Arriving in the Developer's Grove, he handed the Droogle Leader off to Joe and asked him to delete Mayo from The Void permanently. He and Shadow Mari then return to The Void to bring life back to the area and return everyone's friends.
Salem Rose Pt. 1[edit]
Giving Miles a Shadow Stone[edit]
Willham is next seen when Miles discovers The Void. Annoyed, Willham takes Miles, along with Flash and Rocko, to The Next Chapter Village. As Flash talks to Miles about how he found out about The Void, Miles reveals that he has a Time Machine at his disposal. Willham gets annoyed, and when Miles says that more of his friends are time-travelers as well, Willham tells Miles to leave. He points out the Color Vat and then tells Miles how to use a Shadow Stone to return to his realm, explicitly telling him to destroy the stone.
Self-Awareness[edit]
Later on, Willham is one of the beings who welcomes Alana, believing herself to be Aly, back into The Void. He and Shadow Mari realize that Sandal's Shadow restores Aly's memories. When Alana's memories of The Void return, Willham and Shadow Mari pull her aside and tell her about GenericChallenge, asking her to help them capture him and bring him to The Void. She agrees to their terms and returns to Belleview.
Fighting Salem Rose[edit]
Almost immediately after Alana leaves, Salem Rose, a corrupt version of Miles, returns and attacks The Void. Willham, along with Shadow Mari, Crawler, Jinxy, Fox, and Rocket Vulture, jump into action to fight him. They encase Salem Rose in a ball of Shadow and smoke, but he portals away to the Color Vat. Willham, Shadow Mari, and the Four Guardians fly over to him, but Salem Rose falls into the vat before they can attack him. They call for him to come out, and when he does in a blaze of color, Willham realizes that Salem Rose never destroyed the Shadow Stone and tries to erase him from existence, but his attack misses and Salem Rose disappears.
Salem Rose Pt. 2[edit]
Building Milfre's Team[edit]
Willham is next seen when Milfre comes to the Dev Grove asking for help fighting Salem Rose. He and Shadow Mari come up to the Grove at Joe's request, and the two of them agree to help fight Salem Rose. Milfre gets Kamalah and Jowee from Rapoville in 2042, and the five of them go to 1982 to find Athys and her time machine. When they arrive in Rapoville, Shadow Mari hones in on Athys' Shadow while Willham explains to Milfre and Kamalah the events that had happened in The Void, stating that he's happy to finally be away from that chaos. Just then, Shadow Mari notices that Athys teleported to her lair, creating her own portal, and the group travels through it.
In Athys' Lair, Willham stays back with Milfre while Kamalah talks to Athys and Shadow Mari talks to Jowee. Willham asks Milfre why she doesn't have any code or art associated with her, and Milfre, annoyed at Willham for his tone earlier, simply brushes off his concern, saying that it might be because she's a Creation Hero. She then announces that Athys' time machine is ready to use, so the five of them pile into the machine, and Athys tells them to return to 2042 to visit Lavasteam.
In Lavasteam, the five of them appear in Russet's meeting room, and Willham, Shadow Mari, and Russet talk about the damage Salem Rose had caused. After Milfre reunites with Stampy, she calls the attention of everyone in the room. After getting a census of the abilities each being had, Willham's being his ability to erase things from existence, she tells the group about the fight against Salem Rose they were about to take part in. Everyone except Lock and Russet gather in the time machine, with Russet staying in Lavasteam and Lock holding onto the machine, and the group leaves for 2007 Rapoville.
Rematch with Salem Rose[edit]
When they arrive outside the Village Bridge, Willham waits as Milfre attempts to talk down Salem Rose, but when she fails, Willham, along with Jowee, Lock, and Stampy, fight Salem Rose. Willham tries to erase him from existence, but Salem Rose attacks Willham's glasses, causing the screener to vanish for a bit. When he reforms, he sees the rest of Milfre's team sending blasts of their weapons at Salem Rose, so Willham joins in. However, he is attacked when Salem Rose throws the Galactic Jungle Orb at Willham, erasing the orb from existence. Then, Salem Rose releases a supercharged blast of ruby energy, knocking out everyone except Wilfre and destroying all three time machines in the area.
When Willham and Shadow Mari wake up, they find Athys and Wilfre pinning Salem Rose down and stripping him of his power. Willham takes the opportunity to erase the Ruby Earring from existence. When Wilfre kills Salem Rose and Milfre wakes up, she, Willham, and Shadow Mari help bring their unconscious friends back to the Dev Grove. Once there, Willham says goodbye to everyone, and as they return to their homes, he goes over to Joe, asking to be sent back to The Void.
Blank Slates 2[edit]
Searching for Miah[edit]
When Shadow Mari returned from delivering Jowee home, Joe explains that the Droogle Leader had gone missing, taking his sword with him. Willham decides to erase a cluster of trees to search for him, but his plan fails. Eventually, Joe decides that they need to find Miah to search for him. Joe brings Alana and David Franco back to the Developer's Grove, and he tells everyone that after the development of Drawn to Life: The Next Chapter, he hid himself in canon as Mike's father - Mr. Row.
While Alana, Franco, and Shadow Mari left for 2007 to look for him, Willham and Joe stayed behind to discuss the Grove and The Void. When the three of them return with GenericChallenge, Willham starts berating him for stealing people and things from The Void, leaving them in canon and establishing their roles. GenericChallenge agrees to tell the group where Miah was if he was allowed to tie up his loose ends in canon. Willham and Joe reluctantly agree, and GenericChallenge leads them to Miah.
When Miah returns to the Developer's Grove, he creates the Stylus and explains how it works. Willham thanks Miah for the chance to meet him, and Joe uses the stylus to send Willham and Shadow Mari back to The Void.
Battle with the Jungle Creature[edit]
Willham and Shadow Mari reappear outside the Two Realms Plains where they see the Shadow Squid attacking and reopening the Shadow Hole. Willham takes to the skies and asks Gingerfre what had been going on. After learning about the Tree King, Willham covers the Shadow Squid in smoke and attempts to delete it, but is shocked to see it doesn't work. Willham helps the rest of the group fight the Shadow Squid, and the combined efforts of Lambert and Violet take it down.
Willham and the group then head towards the Wii Village, where the Tree King had starting attacking again, and Willham attempts to erase it. However, the Tree King is too large to be deleted, so Willham recruits Lambert to douse his flames, which would kill the Tree King. Lambert is unable to kill the Tree King himself, so he returns to the screeners to get their help. Willham agrees to help him, so he and Lambert fly back up to the Tree King's face, where they are joined by Mill. The three of them extinguish the Tree King's three flames, killing the Tree King, and they help treat injuries and bury the deceased Droogles.
Heather Dating Sim[edit]
Canon Path[edit]
Willham is next seen a few years later, when You arrive in The Void through The Abyss. He is called to Heathers' house along with Jinxy. Willham demands to know who you are, so you tell him your story of traveling through The Abyss to both Belleview and Rapoville, and he determines that you are beyond the Drawn to Life canon. He introduces the three people to you and asks you to describe the Master of the Abyss. You tell him what you saw - a giant blocky face made of mostly muted colors, with two giant hoop earrings made of gold - and he summons the Guardians and mayors of the villages.
After some time, cracks begin to appear in The Void, and the Master makes herself known to Willham. Willham immediately recognizes her as Mayo, and the two of them begin to fight in-between The Void and Abyss. You attack the Master, allowing Willham to get some good attacks in, and since an army of beings was closing in on her, Mayo retreated.
Much later, when the Master's cracks spread faster, Willham noticed the cracks spreading and went through one, coming face to face with the Master once more. Alme also dives into a crack and begins arguing with Willham, telling him to not kill the Master, as she was really just Temte - his sister - being controlled by Mayo. Willham differs to you on what to do, and you decide to try and save Temte.
Willham works with you and Alme during Mayo's game to kill you, hiding in the background and fading from Mayo's perception. When you answer Mayo's last question, she attempts to attack you, but Willham reveals himself, deleting Mayo's tendrils, saving your life. Temte slowly begins to take control of the Master's body once more, and Willham tries to keep Alme from flying close to her and giving her words of encouragement. You tell Alme to go forwards, much to Willham and Q-Heather's dismay. However, Alme's words work, allowing Temte to completely push aside Mayo.
When the four of you return to Roboville, you decide to spend the rest of your day with Temte, and The Engineer gives you some canisters of Abyssal Energy to travel to The Void. However, Willham, Temte, and Alme use the Wishing Well to return home. When you arrive at The Void, Willham tells you that if you need anything done, go to the Guardians' HQ.
Non-Canon Paths[edit]
- If you don't explain yourself to Willham, Heathers, and Jinxy, Willham will kill you.
- If you run away from the fight between Willham and the Master, the fight ends with the entire void being deleted, including Willham.
- If you let Willham kill Temte, Alme will vanish and Willham will direct the non-Roboville natives to Joe, who uses the 3DS Stylus to send everyone home.
- If you fail at any point during Mayo's game, the universes collide into one universe, killing Willham.
- If you refuse to let Alme go to Temte, Willham will accidentally delete him, letting Mayo win her game.
- If you decide to spend the rest of your life with Heathers, Willham will explain his theories about the Master and Mayo's connection before leaving you with Heathers.
Blank Slates 3[edit]
Visiting With Friends[edit]
Willham is next seen a few more years later, enjoying a meal with The Engineer, Heather 2.0, and Pleather in Roboville. When The Engineer gets a call from Temte, the group decides to head their separate ways, and Pleather invites Willham to help fight against Plushview's Aldark, but he politely declines, returning to the Developer's Grove, where he finds the many refugees who had fled The Void to escape Tombstone
First Fight With Tombstone[edit]
He then goes to find Joe, who was working in the Control Booth. Willham asks what was happening, and Joe explains that the Jungle Creature had returned but couldn't be deleted for some reason. Willham is then sent to Shadow Mari's location with the Stylus, returning him to The Void. When he meets Shadow Mari again, she is annoyed at Willham for not being there when Tombstone first attacked. Willham brushes her annoyance off and locks eyes with Tombstone, who was now attacking the Shadow Village, and the screeners begin their attack.
When they make it to the Shadow Village, Willham and Shadow Mari meet up with Abyss and Red Dragon, who were leading the charge on the attack. Willham asks to start deleting chunks of Tombstone, but Red Dragon advises against it, as Tombstone was absorbing the bodies of the Droogle army. He then asks to delete Tombstone's eyes, which the group agrees with, and he begins attacking with Lambert's help. Unfortunately, Tombstone begins regenerating its eyes, though the constant attacks from Tombstone draw its attention away from all the other fighters, letting them deal good damage.
Once Tombstone is defeated, it transforms itself into a tidal wave that collapses on the village and the village's outskirts, and Willham, Shadow Mari, the Four Guardians, Gingerfre, and Jinxy all arrive to help clean up the mess outside the village. While cleaning up, Shadow Mari asks Willham why he didn't respond to the Droogle Leader's message about Tombstone emerging, and he says that he never got it. He offers Shadow Mari his glasses to search for it, and she takes them, dissipating Willham temporarily.
By the time Willham reforms, Tombstone had already been revived by the Five Aldarks, and the Shadow Village was encased in a bubble of smog. Willham sits with the other survivors of the fight, telling the group that there was very little to be done since Tombstone had absorbed Mill, one of the Four Guardians and formerly Monk, granting Tombstone the powers of a screener.
Planning Ahead and Telling Stories[edit]
The group of survivors return to the Guardians' HQ after the fight, where they begin discussing how they would plan their next attack. Willham counts off the people they lost in the smog, including Lambert, Red Dragon, parts of the Droogle army, and parts of the Shadow army. He then asks for the whereabouts of Fiora, Nolan, Aly, and Stocking, learning that they were teleported away to The Next Chapter Village.
Abyss and Jinxy then ask what the smoke that the Guardians were made of was about, and Willham explains the story of Monk, Mayo, Shadow Mari, and the Guardians to the room, making them all promise to keep that intel in the room. During his story, he is interrupted by Alme and Heathers, who brought him and Shadow Mari God Ray infused weapons from Hans. They then tell him that they want to call Temte and ask for her help, but all communications in The Void had been knocked out by Tombstone.
Just then, Pot and Sorcerer enter the building, but due to how crowded HQ was getting, Willham shooed everyone out, bringing Shadow Mari and the remaining Guardians to the roof with him. Now addressing the vast majority of those remaining in The Void, the let everyone know that the villages were still intact underneath Tombstone's smog bubbles, and help divvy up the remaining groups, sending some to each bubble and letting the rest travel to the Wii Village to receive armor from Hans.
Now alone at the HQ with Shadow Mari and Sandal, they begin to strategize against Tombstone, but are interrupted by the appearance of Fiora and Nolan. Fiora tries to get Shadow Mari to admit fault behind Tombstone and the attacks on The Void in the past, so Willham listens as Shadow Mari explains her past, including the history of Mayo and the Ink Well, and her role in the previous battles in The Void. After she finishes her story, Willham pulls out the Compass Array and shows it to the group, identifying where every screener, including Monk, was. Willham then offers his God Ray Glasses to Nolan, not wanting them. The five of them then decide to go towards the Two Realms Plains in an attempt to find Mill's smoke.
Second Fight With Tombstone[edit]
Once they were in the Two Realms Plains, Willham stands over the former Shadow Hole as they discuss their plan to fight Tombstone, though as Willham is talking, a beam of Shadow shoots out from the ground, temporarily dissipating Willham once more. When he reforms, he flies over to Nolan, who was now unconscious, and attempts to wake him up. However, about that time, Stocking shows up with his fighters and teleports Nolan away, allowing Willham to return to the fight.
During the fight, Willham continues his strategy of attacking Tombstone's eyes, though he eventually called upon to free Crawler from Tombstone's clutches, sweeping over the monkey and deleting his mech before Tombstone can fully absorb him. During this time, Racoomie attempts to call for help from Willham and Stocking, but they are both busy helping Crawler and not able to help. After Crawler and Mew Pod are sent back to The Next Chapter Village, Shadow Mari tells Willham that they can't risk being pacifists anymore and asks him to start deleting chunks of Tombstone's body, which he does. However, ask the group attacks Tombstone, it seems to not be focused on the attacks, simply letting its body fall apart around the realms.
As they slow down their attacks and back up to watch Tombstone, it melts into a puddle, and its pieces begin turning into more bubbles of smog, encasing all of the Two Realms Plains in smog. Willham and the other fighters run away as the bubble grows, returning to the HQ.
Mentoring the Guardians[edit]
Back at the HQ, Willham sees the massive hole in the wall from the Tree King's corpse and demands an explanation. The Tree King's new body explains that the revived Guardians, now back at the HQ, attacked and killed him. As the screeners attempt to figure out what had happened in the other villages during their fight, Cecil and Sorcerer explain how the Guardians were revived, the events in the Baki Temple, and Gingerfre's fight in the Shadow Village.
After being caught up, Willham gathers all of the remaining Void residents together and begins to strategize with them all. Willham and Shadow Mari tell everyone that the best chance of victory would be to protect the remaining two villages to prevent them from being absorbed by Tombstone. The group agrees, and Willham tells everyone that didn't already have God Ray armor to get some from Hans, directing some fighters to protect Hans on his way to get charms for everyone. He lets the rest of the group mingle and strategize and calls the Guardians into the HQ to meet with him.
Now meeting with the Guardians, he explains to the three conscious Guardians that they still had their abilities from Monk. Deleting the Tree King's body from the hole in the wall, he notices that his desk had been crushed, with half of the Compass Array crushed with it. However, he continues with his lesson, asking for Warrior's body to be protected during the final fight against Tombstone. With the Guardians now channeling their powers to create whatever they pleased, Willham is called out to by Temte, who notices Red Dragon's body emerging from the Shadow Village bubble.
Trying to Summon the Master[edit]
After Drakon's body emerges from the Drawn to Life Village bubble and Tombstone emerges from the Two Realms Plains bubble, Willham pulls Temte aside and asks her to release the Master of the Abyss to fight Tombstone. Temte refuses, afraid that Mayo would take control once again and destroy The Void with Tombstone, though she promises that if she needed to, she would let the Master out. Joining the fight against Tombstone again, Willham helped delete a massive building that Tombstone was swinging onto the fighters. When Tombstone attempts to absorb the fighters with a tendril, Willham severs its connection to Tombstone's main body, allowing the fighters to be rescued.
As the fight rages on, Willham suggests summoning the Master once more, but Temte shakes her head no. In place of that plan, the Tree King asks to be deleted a few more times in order to wake up in his final body. Willham obliges as the battle rages on, though Tombstone is eventually able to nearly absorb most of the fighters, forcing Temte to unknowingly evacuate them all into canon, leaving only Willham, Shadow Mari, the Guardians, Tree King, and Temte in The Void to fight Tombstone.
Watching the Final Fight[edit]
As Temte relinquishes control to the Master once again, Willham, Shadow Mari, and the Guardians huddle in the Guardians' HQ as the Master and the Tree King's final form begin fighting Tombstone. However, as the fight begins, the Master leans into the HQ, peering into the hole left by the Tree King, and teleports Shadow Mari and the three conscious Guardians away and into canon. Willham asks why he we left behind in the HQ, and the Master tells him that he needed to protect Warrior's body during the fight.
Willham watches the fight between Tombstone, the Master, and the Tree King, watching as the Tree King is killed and the Master takes down Tombstone. However, when Warrior wakes up, Willham is there to greet him. Willham explains that they just defeated Tombstone and sends Warrior off to find Temte's body. As Warrior leaves, Willham watches him meet with Temte and jump into an Abyssal Rift.
Heather Dating Sim Prelude[edit]
Death[edit]
Just then, Temte from the past, before joining with Mayo, knocks on the door of the Guardians' HQ. Willham is shocked to see her, though he soon realizes that this Temte is not the one he had been working with before. He vaguely explains what had happened in The Void, telling Temte that the only person who could bring everyone back had just vanished. As he brings Temte into the HQ, he realizes that he won't be able to see any of his friends again and decides to relinquish his screener abilities to this past version of Temte. As he loosens his form and prepares to give his abilities away, he thinks back through his entire life and dissipates for good.

Trivia[edit]
- The name "Willham" was Isaac's name in beta builds of Drawn to Life.
- This may be the reason Willham wears a pair of glasses.

- It is implied that Willham is actually just his glasses, and the smoke is merely an extension of his body and his powers.
- This may mean that Mayo is actually just her earrings and not the smoke.

- Willham is one of the few characters in GuyThatExists' AU to be seen from birth to death.
